Perhaps the person referred to, placed a bid on the empty one bed and was allocated it. The HA then approached him and asked if he would take the two bed instead?
Not according to Nanny in her OP dated 3/5/13.....
today i became aware that one of the tenants of the social housing flats is moving out tomorrow, and that they are no longer exclusively for young people. the council will be putting them up for bids next week ( it's already on the board in the council office, but no bids will be accepted until the internet site is updated over the weekend)
So the bidding cycle doesn't even close until the 13th.0 -
i signed the tenasncy today. yes i have the keys. the maintenance also has the spare key because they are replacing the garden gate and need access to the flat to plug tools in.
he will sing for my flat when he is given the keys.0 -

it runs monday to sunday. bidding stopped in sunfay. he was nominated monday, the HA spoke to him yesterday and spoke to me this morning. they visited me this afternoon.
it was already available for bids before i knew that the criteris had changed from 'supported housing for young perple' to general. i telephoned the HA on thursday. they contacted the council who refused to withdraw it.
anything else you need to know?0 -

So, he isn't in his flat, and he isn't in your flat. Good of him to simply vanish with all his belongings (again).0 -

Not disputing what you're saying there, just that the impliction wasn't necessarily that she was doing a direct exchange.
You are correct that bids are normally open for a week rather than closed and keys handed over within a couple of days of bidding opening.Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0 -

I am very pleased for you Nannytone, it must be a weight off your mind.
Does this mean from now on we can see a "bedroom tax" thread that doesn't turn into a nannytone can't downsize.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -

because he doesnt have a tenancy with the HA yet. even if he had accepted the flat he would only have signed for it today at the earliest. they probably wouldnt have made such a rish if it hadnt been for the fact that they want me to move a s a p.
he hasnt vanished... he is in exactly the same position he was in yesterday!
youre forgetting ... he was the one who had the choice over which property he wanted! if he had chosen the one bed , then he would have got it.
you just dont like the facyt that i am on benefits and have bee lucky enough to find a place where i wont need to top up the rent.
you would have obviously preferred that i either stayed here, so you could complain that i am under occupying and enjoy the thought that i was losing money that i couldnt afford. or that i moved into some dump with £69 of LHA that left me even more financially struggling and with no security.
seems to be what you think disabled people should have life harder than they already do.
but i dont care... because i m settled now and dont have to listen to your diatribe anymore0 -

is it an effort to be ridiculously inane?
bidding started april 29th. i found out on 2nd may that it had been reclassified. i phoned the HA the same day. 3ed may the HA xontacted the council who refused to withdraw it, bidding closed 5th may.
nominations to the HA on 5th May. phoned the nominated person 6th may. phoned and visited me today.
is that clearer for you now?0 -
