Morning all :hello: Boy am I tired again this morning, but it could have something to do with sitting for 3+ hours last night reading old log books from the school. Some of the antics are so funny but the amazing thing is that they all start in the 1930s. The one I was reading in particular goes on about all the pre-war prep they did like emergency planning to evacuate children, where the children went, when war was declared, who was abscent due to bombing, air raids, times spent in the air raid shelters and alsorts. Best bit is when they put something along the lines of "school closed - two days holiday due to end of war so children can join in general rejoicing" :D Anyways...

pigpen will find out from my sis today where she got the stickers from and let you know.

I was up till 11:30 marking, but surprisingly feel OK. charlie slept till 8, so that probably helped.

i think my general plan is to go to meadowhall as i desperately need a new bottle brush as it snapped, and a bath mat, and new bibs and socks. My boy is growing too quickly unfortunately. Haven't really thought much further than that.

Found out my training day times tomorrow are 8:45 - 3:00 which wouldn't be too bad if it was at school (i.e. less than 2 minutes away from my sisters) but it is at a hotel at the other side of doncaster, so as there are lots of road works, i will have to drop charlie off scarily early, so i had best be super organised tonight and sort out his stuff he will need and lay clothes out and stuff, otherwise i would probably have to be up at 6 to get out by 7:30 ish.

Anyway, off to write my list and get my boy dressed. I will see what you are all up to later.

Nicki, those old school log books sound like great reading. I love stuff like that, ordinary folks views of what we think of as history. Did you just borrow them for a nose or are they doing something with them?

    Morning all

Have been offline for a few days but am back now.

Not done much FLYing - just the basics but am going to get stuck in to the bathroom and dust in my bedroom today.

DH and I had a clearout in the living room the other day which freed up space but also revealed some hidden dust. Yeurgh. Out of sight and all that.

Will read all messages later as a reward. If I start now, I'll never move!!!

    Have a great day all

I'm the webmistress for the school website and I'm trying to do the history of the school. I went hunting yesterday in one of the stock rooms and found a box full of stuff from the 1930s onwards, until about 1989 :D There's 3 log books (one belongs to a boys only junior/senior school which was "attached" to this school and mentions my old primary school as well :D ), 4 punishment books (from when they had the cane - one girl got the cane 4 times on the hands for stealing money from home by request of her father  ), and I've been through & copied 2 scrap books of photographs of school pantos (including embarrasing ones from when I was there :o Thankfully I can't see me in any of them :D ). I've also managed to find a register from 1902/03 school year and all sorts of letters that are the equivalent of an OFSTED inspection. It really is fasinating stuff. I just want to get them back to school ASAP as it's half-term next week and I don't want them hanging around the house since we'll be out alot. They're irreplaceable obviously. Best thing is though that they think there are more boxes of archive stuff in the back of a stockroom but it's a bit difficult to get in there ATM. Can't wait to see what else they can find!

When I've done the pages I'll post a link so you can have a nosey as it's taking up alot of my time and the house should be a tip BUT thanks to this thread its presentable, apart from the pile of dishes by the sink :D:j (they will get done honestly, just in stages as my eyes need the break from reading the awful handwriting :rotfl: )

Right, must get on with ebay parcels - 2 more to dispatch and waiting on payment for some others so I'll wrap those, but just label them until as to what they are until I receive payment ;)
