worse off on universal credit?

hi just a quick query, i done the online places for people universal credit calculator and its saying my base award and child support come to a total of £265 per month (£61 per week) thats with my salary of £1302 (40hr week) and my partners salary £6120 (18hrs week) total inc £21744. we currently recieve £340 in child tax credit every 4 weeks (£85 a week) thats based on the same income figures as above. so by the looks of this we will be £24 a week worse off just over £100 a month we are set to lose when we get switched to universal credit!!! should i start cutting back now or is this possible a mistake in the calculator? i was under the impression that people would be better off under the new system? any advice appreciated cheers

I do not think that these UC tools are accurate at present. If your income is same then your tax credit elements should remain as they are now.0

Not everyone will be better off. There is transitional protection for people moved over to UC, see link below.

thanks il just keep fingers crossed then.. i thought it was a complete new calculation but as you see the tax credits r just incorporated into uc so should technically remain the same.0

Is it child maintenance you receive? If so this may be the reason why as it currently isn't means tested for Tax Credits but I believe it will be for UC? I might be wrong though.0 -
there is no suggestion (that I'm aware of) that child maintenance will be considered income for Universal Credit purposes.0

no it is not child maintence. all we get is child tax credit at the above amounts. when i mentioned child support it was because the uc calculator breaks everything down into groups. base award, child support, housing etc. its quite confusing really lol0 -
