    Morning all,

    Happy Birthday TTFTM :bdaycake:

Another beautiful morning, how lucky we are.

Ironing to do then hope to cut the grass before work if it's dried out enough. It's growing fast now. Sadly all the weeds on the allotment are growing fast too :(

Potted some tomatoes on into bigger pots yesterday, also a few courgettes but germination rate on courgettes is poor so far. Normally they all spring up but this time I've sown two varieties and only 3 or 4 from each packet have appeared. That will be more than enough for us but not many over to pass on to friends and family.

The ironing pile beckons so have a good day :)

Talking of op's, am I supposed to ask halight about his surgery. It may well be that it has been discussed before and everyone knows, but don't feel like reading back what could be months. Having had a variety of, or as the surgeon said "you've had a chequered history of surgery", I just might be in a position to offer advice. It's up to you.

I'm Due to have a brain tumor removed and part of my skull replaced with a plate,

This will be the fourth brain tumor that Iv had removed over the last 13 years. The first one was done At the End of November 2000, I was 20 years old at the time.
I have always been able to have the bone put back after the Op. But this time Iv had a plate made to replace the bone. iv been on the waiting list since the end of October 2012, But I have known about the Tumor since 2009, They said at Fist they would keep an eye on it and then treat it with Radio, But At the Scan I had In September, they decided it was time to treat it and decided That It was best to remove it and replace the Bone as it had started to grow into the skull.

I also have another brain tumor. They found that one In 2004, But it has not grown or changed shape sine 2005. So they are leaving that one, Until it decided to do something again. I have been told it might never do anything again. Its only very small, A few mill across.

    Thanks for asking :A

Good morning you lovely lot :D:D

Sun is out, I've got plans for a washing marathon and ironing to tackle. Firstly though its the daily vac, bloomin dog is shedding hair faster than I can pick it up!!

I am fasting today so soup for lunch and something with salad or lots of veg for dinner.

Right better get cracking if I want to have a sit down later and enjoy the sunshine ;)

TTFTM happy birthday, have a great day

Judi hugs for you, hope you can make a decision soon so you don't lose any more sleep than necessary x

Jools and LW hugs for you too xxx

Islandman I'd rather you had your pants showing 2" higher than the current trend of trousers being 5" lower

Halight glad your sleeping better x great news about work. Hope it pans out, you have your op and then can go back. Sending positive vibes you hear about your op ASAP xxx

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

    Morning all,

First of all,TTFTMsending very Happy Birthday wishes to you:bdaycake:have some cake (though I think you might be feeling a bit full with Halights cakes:D) I hope your day goes better than you expect.

Halight- it's s*ds law isn't it with timing and the work /op,but hope you hear from the hospital very soon.

Gorgeous day-hope to get out in the garden later.I've bought DGD a little watering can so she can 'help'-she loves water. She's going away next week with her Mum,so it'll be a very quiet week :(

Going to crack on with a few jobs shortly,& planning on ringing an estate agent soon with a view to trying to sell the house again.I had a bit of a down day yesterday and I think it's connected with losing lovely Leo in Feb.I really miss dogwalking, especially when its so nice, keep thinking I could be in the fields,I miss the other dogwalkers and seeing people.DH would sooner wait until we have moved, seeing as we've just got the garden/house sorted and it's looking nice.So I've got motivation to get the house tidy for next week.Yesterday, however I was having a look at dog rescue sites in the NW :o & showed him a couple and he isnt keen on the idea yet
:( and I felt fed up thinking how much longer we've been in this house than we meant to. Bitsy would you recommend a Lab-I know you grumble about the shedding of hair but I'm used to that as Leo used to moult a lot,I'm thinking about DGD when she visits, though she is well used to dogs in any case. They seem lovely family pets, and as I'm getting a bit older, much as I love mastiffs, think we could do with something weighing less than 75kg:D

Islandman-I'm with Judi, comfy pants win hands down :rotfl:
Right, better crack on with the tidying-have good days all,& hope you all have some sunshine xx

I'm wondering if islandman is some kind of pervert, joining the thread and then bringing up the subject of underwear. ;)

    TTFTM :bdaycake:Happy birthday!
    Morning all!
A rotten night with little sleep, I have read 2 books on my kindle, done 2 loads of washing and emptied mount ironmore so far, still need to sort the holiday clothes out but have found some tops with greasy stains washed in, so will buy a couple, that's todays excuse to get out!
DS didn't get a face to face interview for the job he applied for, so he's not a happy soldier, am glad I'm not 17 and looking for work these days!
Work was horrendous yesterday, not helped by the news that one of my staff's young daughter is in hospital having bone biopsies done on something suspicious in a leg bone, he came in to see me to sort out some leave and just looked lost, really felt for him, a welcome change to feel miserable for someone else, if you see what I mean!
Right, better get the hoover out, this house is a tip and getting on my nerves just now. Have a good day all!
    RIP Iain

Good morning all and what a glorious morning it is here in the 'Garden of England'

First off, Happy Birthday to TTFTM hope you have a smashing day and get spoiled rotten(its whats birthdays are for ,a bit of spoiling):):)

Islandman I too prefer comfort over everything else, and pants, like shoes, should be built for comfort and not speed;) and why not ,its one of the pleasures in growing old you can wear what you darn well want to without feeling bad,sad or daft :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I had a great day yesterday my garage cancelled my service until next week ,apparently the mechanic had an accident :eek:hopefully not in someones car :rotfl:

So my DD said as she had the day off we could go out to lunch (her treat ) even better:rotfl:So we toddled off down to Canterbury .We had a good long wander around the cathedral (haven't been for years and its still jaw-droppingly amazing)then we went around The Canterbury Tales exhibition which was very good and ended up in a pub having fish and chip (even nicer)
Lovely little town and it was so peaceful to walk around the grounds of the cathedral in the sunshine.
Came home and picked the boys up and I took two of them to Hempstead Valley as they had pocket money from their other Nanny that was burning a hole in their poclkets and Dd took the youngest off to Elm court to get some animal stuff for the hampsters (he loves going there as their is a lot of small pets to look at )
I got home eventually around 6.00 after a really lovely day out with just DD and the sunshine what more could and old woman wan t :):):)
Today it was back to normality and the school run, then some housework and I have just booked our next years holiday online already and we haven't had this years yet :):) But large holiday house lets go very quickly on the Isle of wight so we always have to book weel in advance as there are quite a tribe of us .This year we are off to Sandown and next year it will be Freshwater Bay.We just adore the Island and the boys are in their element as they can fish and climb trees and have a lot of good fun on the beach.Even if it rains we have never yet had a problem finding something for the kids to do.
Right I now much get a wriggle on as I have a little bit of ironing to do from the washing thats blowing away on the line
Hope everyone has a great day what ever you are doing
    Cheers chums

    Hi all

First, before I forget to say it, Hoppy Birdday TTFTM:beer:

Apologies for being awol yesterday - Beltane celebrations and all that, doncha know?:o *waves to Hester*:D:D:D:D:D

I see we have some lovely new posters - including a chap who is compassionate enough to care about an injured seagull.:T (I've been skim-reading the day and a half of threads I'd missed)

I also had a reasonably good visit to the horse-piddle yesterday - they've given me some shiny new wrist-splints which actually fit (they's Small size, my old ones were Medium cos that's all they had in stock when I was given them, 20-odd years ago). They also had me try a wax-bath for my hands - it involved putting my hands in a pot of warm wax, dipping them 4 times (much like a candle, lol) and then putting them in plastic bags (to keep the wax off clothes) and finally a thick mitten, like a big oven glove over the top, to retain the heat, and sit like that for 15 minutes. It really seemed to do some good - I can go back whenever I want to have another go, so as Mr LW has three Early shifts during May, when he'll be wfh, I'll get him to take me those afternoons.

What they did say is if I find it really beneficial, maybe consider buying myself a wax bath - apparently Am@zon have them in the beauty treatments section, for about £30 or £40 - so that I can do it whenever I want. So we'll do the three more at the horse-piddle, to make sure the beneficial effect I thought I felt yesterday wasn't just chance, then I'm quite happy to use some DLA money to buy my own wax-bath - before IDS takes away my DLA payments!!

Ironic that Butterfly spoke about cubital tunnel the other day, as they said this may well be part of my problem, too, as well as carpal tunnel (based on how the pins'n'needles affects my hands) - but they reckon testing me would be difficult because I'm so very tense and nervous that they wouldn't get an accurate reading, as you need to have the muscles completely relaxed.

Still, anything that makes life a little more comfortable, and makes doing my tasks a bit easier is welcome.;)

We had our lunch out - there's a pub fairly near here by the canal, so we sat outside by the water. I was a bit worried Mr LW was going to pitch me in the canal on the way through, but he didn't, thankfully (I can't swim).

Uh, oh, just realised the length of this post; I shall shut up now, and go do some dusting.:D

Good wishes, (((HUGS))), healing vibes and posi-vibes all in a pile on the table - help yourselves to whatever you need/want today.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
