Someone once did that with my bin, dumped a load of bottles and cardboard in, i was worried it would`nt get emptied and i`d get the blame so i rang the council who told me that if it happened again to get back in touch and they`d take it from there .Worth ringing them to see what they say x0

Thanks for the advice all. OH likes a project so have told him about the movement camera. He also likes cats so I'm sure he won't mind lots of cat photography! We think it was probably done in broad daylight when we went out for Sunday lunch.
The bin is due to be emptied this Friday, and we're going to put the bin lock on before then. I'm quite expecting the bags just to be dumped next to the bin if it has a lock on.
And re searching for any named post, OH did this but unfortunately it was so mouldy and horrific that he gagged befoer he could get anywhere. You'd need a biohazard suit. He said it seriously looks like it's been left outside for months, soggy and mouldy etc.
Chavvie lady takes massive pride of place of her front and back gardens, sweeping it every day (but she's quite happy to trample your bedding plants) and we can see right into next door's garden and haven't seen any such bags there. I really doubt anyone could have such bags in their house as it is really an incredible smell.
Does anyone know who I would contact at the council? Would it be environmental health or the actual bin company (veolia) for example? And what would I say to the Police? We don't really know who is doing it, like I say next door would have easiest access, but then I don't put it past her across, but then given how clean and tidy she is with her gardens it seems a weird thing for her to store outside.0 -
Definately get a camera op, that must be annoying and quite unsettling to have that happen when you thought it was secure!
This may make you laugh though - over the past year we kept having bags of potatoes appear inside our front garden hedge, could not work out what was happening. Then over one week new bags were appearing everyday, at one point we had 6 full bags of potatoes sat in there! Turns out it was the local oddball who was helping himself to leftover food in the local co-op rubbish bins and storing it away in various front gardens....no idea why as he never came back to collect any of them!
Very strange but made us laugh!!!0 -
Hahaha some folk! Well OH called the company who do the bins and apparently they said it's tough, can't do anything, and we should keep our bin more secure. Not quite sure how they think keeping a bin behind a padlocked 6 foot fence isn't secure!0

Takes all sorts!
Could you drill 2 holes in the bin and use a chain and heavy-duty padlock to lock it?

Dearie me OP, they're persistent aren't they! ditto the bin lock and camera/security light idea.
maybe get some of that anti-vandal paint for the top of your fence (you know, the sticky stuff that doesnt dry)0 -
I'd accidentally make some areas of your garden hazardous. Obviously you will know where the hazards are but anyone with unauthorised access may not.
I find a deep pit with punji sticks works for me. I havent checked it in a while but its always exciting to check which Chavs i've added to my collection.MFW - <£90kAll other debts cleared thanks to the knowledge gained from this wonderful website and its users!0 -
Lol not sure how OH would think if I turned the back garden into an Indiana Jones adventure, and dog probably wouldn't be too fond of a snake and spike pit.
And yes, the only way we can see bin locks is if you specifically buy one online and we'd like it before Friday collection. OH has got his drill on charge and padlock at the ready. Of course it's going to leave a small 'gap' but it does mean they can't put whole bags in.
If I come home from work and see them posting bits of moldy cardboard through the gap, I'll probably rip their face off!0 -
More weirdness now. Ive just come home, we have done heathers in our front garden and someone had removed two and placed them neatly in the main road (they hadn't really taken so no roots to rip out. I'm starting to think someone is really starting to f**k with us and I'm quite worried now. I feel really stupid ringing 101 about heathers, but I can't see how it could be an innocent explanation? What does everyone think?
It's not like some scrotes removed them to throw at each other as they're neatly placed in the road next to the house0 -
Very odd indeed! Do call and make sure that there's a record of every single incident - when the culprit is identified there will be a trail of evidence. This is harassment, surely?Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A
