More neighbour woes!

This isn't a question this time, more just of being gobsmacked! OH has just informed me that our black bin is full to capacity (due to be collected this Friday - every two weeks), which is odd as he is a very avid recycler and it's normally about half full.
Further investigation reveals that someone has dumped carrier bags full of cardboard and food coated in black mold that made him wretch into the black bin.
These bags weren't here two days ago! The bin has been behind a padlocked 6 foot secure garden, which since other neighbour troubles has had trellis put poking up top of it and pyrancatha planted next to it!
There are so many other neighbour's bins who have them out in front of the house, not behind any security, and yet someone has obviously scaled our fence to put it in??? Really quite worried now why someone would go to that effort, and obviously they must have been monitoring our movements to see when we're both out as OH works very unregular shifts and the bins are very visible from the house.
I'm going to put a bin lock on, but I'm still rather concerned that me and OH have been monitored and someone has gone through all that trouble...

I can understand why you feel uneasy and a bit miffed about this recent event. It must have been rather unpleasant to a) realise someone had scaled your fence, come onto your property and put something into your bin and b) placed something so disgusting into it without even bothering to bag it up and keep the discarded waste hygienic.
Were you on a while ago, raising concerns about chav neighbours who kept kicking a ball into your garden and got abusive with you? If so is it likely they are the culprits? A bin lock or transferring the bin into a garage may sort out the immediate problem. It doesn't seem that the trelassing or plants are enough of a deterrent to keep a certain someone out. Might be worth contacting the police to see what they suggest as no-one should be entering the grounds of your property and touching anything without your prior permission.
Hope you get this sorted out, how unsettling for you.The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. Yes, since the chavvie lady my OH fitted the trellis and tried himself to get scale the fence. He managed it, but not without almost breaking his ankle, so some heffer of a woman would probably struggle.
I suppose what I'm most concerned about is if it was her why she'd go through all that bother when there's 10 houses with easily accesible bins. Our has got to be the most secure garden on the street after the recent events!
Unfortunately we don't have a garage, and OH can't find a bin lock in B&Q. It's so frustrating as if I knew who it was I'd be chucking the bags back in their garden! It's got to the point where we are considering buying a webcam and setting up a DIY CCTV system in the back bedroom.0 -
If it is this lady following through with her threats to enter your property when she likes, that is concerning. You have to wonder at the mentality and state of mind of someone, who would go to such extreme lengths to upset and intimidate their own neighbour.
This isn't about anyone running out of bin space and needing to dispose of rubbish via a neighbour. As you say she could have chosen to use much more accessible bins up and down the road if that were the case. Someone is trying to send a strong message to you, that they can scale your fence and get onto your property, despite all your recent efforts to secure your garden.
Before you go to any additional expense I would take the advice of the police and see what they suggest as the best way of resolving this situation once and for all. The last thing you want is to be out sunbathing in your garden and have some fat lump suddenly come over your fence, land on the end of your sunbed and send you into orbit. Get this sorted before we get any 'summer'.The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. There must surely be a law against trespass and fly tipping, both of which seem to have happened here. I'd have a wor with the police and also your council's refuse and recycling or Environment dept re the fly tipping.0

Its a grim task but I would get rubber gloves and rummage through to see if there was any evidence of an address so I could tip it out on their doorstep..If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, its just possible you haven't grasped the situation0

That is mad and perplexing - get a lock on it asap.0

I had a neighbour dump a black bin bag in my front garden behind a bush ?? (adressed envelopes in the bin bag when I looked !! )
it "appeared" back in their porch at 5.30 am one morning
never happened againEx forum ambassador

Just as an idea...my other half had had similar neighbor concerns and bought a small camera to monitor his drive. It's triggered by movement, so whenever said neighbor (or anyone else such as the postie) appeared on the drive it would record. It's nothing fancy, just a small indoor camera that sits on the windowsill inside and takes 8 photos once triggered. It proved quite useful as it had picked up someone on the drive at 01.30 one morning, and he was able to submit this to the police as evidence of unauthorised activity.
Perhaps an idea, to be able to capture any strange happenings in your back garden.
Be warned, you may end up with plenty of cat photos though, we did. :rotfl:0 -
Bl00dy hell aileth, that's creepy! I would invest in a small camera if it's not too costly, what's happening here is criminal activity.
I'm sure that it is your horrid neighbour, just read your other thread xxxLife is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A
Never regret something that once made you smile :A0 -
You can buy security lights with a built in camera that records onto an SD card, perhaps worth considering? That way you get an outside light to enjoy
I feel for you Aileth, I had the same thing before we moved. So glad to be away from the chav scum.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0
