Bogus psychometric tests

Because some of the people filling it in are not as savvy as most MSEers.
It is fine to ask people to fill in a questionnaire; it is not fine to mislead them about the validity of their answers.
Also, I don't believe this is "free" money - I paid NI all of my working life in order to be able to claim if I became unemployed.0 -
You haven't actually read what you were supposed to do. This doesn't tell me anything about how YOU fit into the ethos of the company, just that you can copy paste from the John Lewis website.
Well of course I haven't read what has to be done, I'm at work. I hope you aren't a state worker messing around on the internet during working time? Are you?If it was a copy paste job, sure I could do it in 30 seconds, but that isn't actually what they have asked for. They are asking you to sell yourself to John Lewis.
If they could sell themselves, then they wouldn't be on JSA! Surely somebody (hopefully an agency, as they have the skills) is going to give them a training on how to sell themselves in a covering letter, CV and at an interview?
I can't see anyone choosing to live on £70 cash a week; unless they have access to other welfare payments such as child tax credit and are happy to spend their child/rens money on themselves.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

The psychometric test devised by the government's 'nudge' department is of no more use than an arcade fortune telling machine. It may as well be compulsory to read the local paper's horoscope on a daily basis for 'motivation'.
Well you never know....that tall dark stranger might have a job offer.0 -

But you saw fit to say how long it would take.0 -

Are you saying these benefits are only available to those that have paid NI?
Sadly, it's the same age related rate for those that have paid in for years and for those that have never paid anything in. Crazy system that needs to be changed.RENTING? You know what? I take it back. What you did say was that researching the ethos of the companies would take a matter of seconds per company, on the internet, searching by company name + ethos. You tried just one company, of the two mentioned by dogger, and it worked for that. You assumed it would work for them all. It doesn't work for the second.
So that's that part -- but that's probably the smallest part.0 -

I agree if you mean raising the rate for those who have paid in but at the moment there is a huge youth unemployment problem both here and in Europe because employers don't want to train people any more they want them to be trained and willing to work for peanuts. So someone coming from a poorer country with all the work experience and training will always win over our own youth. And then we blame them. We are in a bigger mess than most people realise at the moment.0 -

Er.. well obviously not since I have talked about being on the work programme. But I see you think browsing forums on work time is ok.MissMoneypenny wrote: »If they could sell themselves, then they wouldn't be on JSA!MissMoneypenny wrote: »I can't see anyone choosing to live on £70 cash a week; unless they have access to other welfare payments such as child tax credit and are happy to spend their child/rens money on themselves.
