The armoured flex from the pump housing to the EV was blocked:mad:
It has an S bend in it, and kinks very slightly, and my quess is that over time in normal operation a small amount of crud collects in the trap section whilst air can get trapped at the high point, great combination for corrosion:o
Bad design, as if it were straight it wudnt happen!
It was blocked solid, but i got it out after a bit of poking about.
After several attempts to re pressure expansion vessel, you wudnt know it wasnt draining, the bladder was OK, and air pressure holding OK, hence the head scratching, and the persistant SV blow, loss of pressure and thinking the EV was OK:o

If you should come across this, BEWARE though, as when you eventually find it and undo the flex you will find that due to constant fiddling the EV will have a very high pressure retained in it which will blow the water everywhere;)

No doubt it is possible for this to occur on other system boiler to, so I think its one worth remembering:cool:

:pNope, it was sound, no leaks, and sound to most engineers means leaks, so more imporatantly DID you ACTUALLY MEAN blocked???;)coz you never said that:p
