Poor to no Signal on EE

Options
I've been with Orange for a year now and the only time I have ever had problems with the signal was at work in the staff room, which was not a big deal, as certain networks had problem getting a signal through.

But ever since it went to EE I have very low to no signal at home now and the only way I can get a good signal is in open areas like out doors.

This as left to poor, slow or no internet at all.
Calls getting dropped a hell of a lot.
And text messages failing to send or receiving text messages as up to a day late.

The only time my phone is of any real use is when I'm connected to a wifi, which is not practical.

What I would like to do is be able to have my contract mutually canceled.

But I have no idea on how to start the complaint procedure or what to do next to get to this stage.

Can someone please help me out here.

Check with the network to see if any local masts are down .

You have a good signal so its not the phone as the problem .

  • I called them today about this, they say they are upgrading all masts across the UK currently, you can call them to get an eta on the mast for your area, also they can walk you through manually resetting the mast you are connected to which they think will improve connection.
Be prepared for long waits on the call though #150 for contract.
They dont appear to have been told there are several million unemployed in the UK.

I'm not sure the right term is "upgrading" Since T-Mobile and Orange joined to create EE they have decommissioned over 3000 sites.

I've noticed that, my IPhone5 on EE (orange not 4gEE) often has no service. Very annoying!!!

Yep, the signal on my T-Mobile has gone from OK to poor here. I will be leaving them after 10 years in Dec this year. Service is just good enough anymore.

No mutually agreeable termination is possible. The fact you happen to be in an area where they don't (or no longer) provide coverage is not a reason for termination. Read the contract terms for the precise wording.

A good reason never to commit to a contract the first place!

People should also be aware that Virgin Mobile is carried on EE network.
Here we've had practically no service from 21st April and a neighbour who has Orange confirmed this. They went to the local EE shop and complained and eventually were told there was work going on and it should be fixed by mid May. I've been on to Virgin who do not seem to be able to detect the areas where this serious issue now exists. What makes it worse is that the signal dropping in and out drains the handset batteries as well. I'm back on a giffgaff SIM.......

Incorrect. It is reasonable that consumers make an informed choice to commit to buying a period of service based on the existing coverage. If EE deliberately removes transmitters, then it is failing to carry out the service with reasonable care and skill. This breaches Section 13 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, which overrides any terms and conditions that might state to the contrary.
  • I have been with orange for 4 years, i have never had a signal problem until it changed to EE. It has been shockingly poor and inconsistent, sadly there is nothing we can do about it!
