  • Hi. I am in a similar situation to yourself. I receved a parking ticket from ANPR ltd in March. I posted on this board too and was advised to ignore all correspondence. The fine has gone from £60 to £100 and today a red letter for £140. I too am not sure what to do. We really feel that we had a case to not pay but they ignored our appeal. Help!

Sometimes I just want to scream!

Please post on your thread not on some random thread about a different parking company to yours! And the advice in post #11 applies to you as well!
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Many thanks for that reply - I really appreciate it. I know you say they MAY take action and were asking me why they only said "may". Perhaps this is because this is the first letter which has been sent? If i now ignore this letter, perhaps the next one will say "further action WILL be taken" (along with an increased fine amount no doubt). What will i do then?

    Thanks

Perhaps this, perhaps that, isn't likely to happen. Save the money or spend it on something and stop worrying. :)

Of course it looks threatening, all bullies use threats to make their victims cower down and lick their boots!
They are not bailiffs, they have no powers and only use nasty intimidating letters.
You are still in the wrong frame of mind, they say DO NOT IGNORE THIS LETTER and ring us urgently and you quiver in your boots, and still think of it as a fine.
It is a speculative invoice just like a scam email, read the advice and wise up, you will get more letters and threats just stay resolved.
I took the advice on here and still have all my limbs left, so will you!;)

I fully understand how frightening these letters can appear, they are written pseudo legal jargon & designed to frighten you into paying what is nothing more than a speculative invoice. If they had a cast iron case against you, they would have taken you to court already, although it would appear that some of these these scum are now chancing their arm by using the county court as the next step in the threat-o-gram chain - I strongly suspect they will back out of well defended claims. If you are unlucky enough to receive papers from the county court, the 'claim' is easily defendable with help from the fantastic regulars on here and Pepipoo.

Oh, for God's sake! Have you actually read the standard letter chains which are available on this forum?

See forum index, Sticky number 8 from the top.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
