Although Flow Energy only offers one tariff, which is fixed, did anyone notice the following in their T&Cs?
    7 Changes to this contract
7.1 We can change the terms of this contract (including price and payment methods) at any time (unless we have agreed otherwise with you).
So, legally, can the price be changed, or not????

In line with their terms and conditions, it would depend if they had agreed otherwise with you. ;)

If they agree a fixed rate with you, it will be fixed for the duration they stated.

I, too, have just arranged to switch from npower to FlowEnergy online. Everything seems efficient so far and I got the email confirmation before I had left the website. I am now wondering though whether this new company will still count for cashback from my Santander 123 account? I'd have hoped so but when I just checked their look-up list it didn't show Flow energy. Will see what happens...

As you say, they are not currently in the Santander list
If you have checked the look up table of eligible suppliers and cannot find the details, you will need to decide if you still want to proceed as you may not receive cashback on Direct Debit payments to this supplier. Alternatively if you need to speak to an adviser for more information click on the following link to find out how to contact us (existing customers will need to call the 'Managing your current account' number) or visit a branch. When you speak to an adviser you will need to provide details of the Direct Debit which you have not received cashback for. The adviser will be able to look into this for you and help you with your query.

Just an update that I emailed Flow Energy to query the Santander 123 cashback and they said, " they have looked into it and it's something they are possibly considering for the future." Hope so !

Just an update on this. Today I received an email from nPower asking me to ring them (0800 number) to discuss my leaving them. When I spoke to them, they said they have just released a couple of new tariffs, and I should compare with the intended new provider. I said that since I had seven days to cancel, and that was on the first of May, they were too late, and they then dropped that approach and wished me well with the changeover. :)

I then went and looked at their new tariffs. A fix until August 2014 was offered to me at approximately £5 a month more than the Flow deal, so no regrets here so far. However, this does infer that their new tariffs are cheaper than when I made the first comparisons, so maybe the Flow Energy deals are driving down the prices a bit? :T

Conclusion: always check your quotes, don't go by other's experiences entirely.

I too am in the process of moving to Flow from nPower, good length of fix and the Eco7 night and standing charge are both less than my current nPower's Billsaver May 2013. Day rate is slightly higher but, over the last year, we've used 84% of our electricity overnight. :money:

Maybe a bit of new competition for the big companies? Only time will tell...

My switch went through today no problems. It was four weeks and two days after I gave them my order so only two days slower than the quickest possible time, which is pretty good in my experience.

In terms of customer service I sent an email last night at 6 pm to give them my opening read and to ask when their online service would be available. I had a reply by 9 am this morning. It will be within 'the next few weeks'. Npower took a week to reply to my last query.

They do charge in advance and I got an email saying my first direct debit will be taken on the 27th. The direct debit is for the amount I told them I would use.

    So far, so good.

uswitch just recommended flow energy and as wasn't sure of them thought best to search here.

I too am moving from npower. Was on an online tariff where I could not even enter my readings online. Had to phone them in and then ask for a bill to be sent.
Hopefully flow energy will do better.

Well, my deal started on 30th May (I was away on holiday at the time), and the first DD goes out on 14th June, and subsequent payments on 14th of each month thereafter. No advance payment here then.

Lots of email contact, and as I said, since I would be away at the start I phoned to give them my readings on the day before I left. I have absolutely no complaints yet about the service, especially the phone service. When I rang, an automated system said I was in a queue, and the waiting time was 1 minute 27 seconds. :rotfl:
They answered in less than a minute, but the apparent precision amused me no end.

The "WelcomePack" is still in the post (I hope), and perhaps should have come sooner. I'll update here when it arrives.

BTW, my rates with them are: Gas SC 23.014p/day 3.508 p/kWh ; Elec SC 23.014 p/day 11.663 p/kWh. YMMV (WILL vary, I'm sure). HTH.

Yeah, I think they have been having some problems giving the 10 working day notice in time for the switch date. My first direct debit has also been pushed back to June 24th. It is supposed to be a pay in advance tariff, though. link

My 'welcome pack' was sent by email.
