Thanks Rowan Tree and Jazee yesterday. I had a long chat with the vet this morning, and I think we have a plan. I've dosed Dog this morning and she's snoozing peacefully now, which is a huge improvement.

    Town done
DS1 helped to be organised for the visa appointment

Honey - that is a shame your mother was harsh to you all those years ago. My thought with plants is that they want to grow (and multiply) so you can't do much permanently wrong. When in doubt remember that in a trial on pruning roses they found that hacking them with electric hedge cutters produced the same quality flowers the following year as traditional prunning methods.

Mrs MP presentation sounds great - fancy sharing with us?

Still having to force myself to do things but as you are honey I'm going to spend 10 minutes deheading my daffs.

    Hi all

Jessie was collected at 11:00 this morning, so I've spent a fun half-hour doing the Dys0n Tango to get rid of black Labrador hairs.:D

You'll be pleased to know my foot seems fine; not hurting anything like it was, and I can still get the wellies on, so I think it's purely a bad bruise.:o
you could freeze some slices of lemon to make flavoured ice cubes for drinks "ice and a slice" in one

cakes sound scrummy, i bet your kitchen smells wonderful
I always keep lemon slices in the freezer, as I have them in tea, in preference to milk.

Btw, that presentation sounds good - I like the term "mood hoovers" - yes, it does describe some people perfectly, doesn't it?:o

Aww, bless her - sweet dreams, Dog.:o

I need to make some labels for the lemon & lime marmalade we made yesterday, so the ancient pc is switched on ready to do that.;)

And I need to clean the kitchen (Monday's room, on my lists) so I'd better crack on.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Daffs dead headed, front and back. I have the feeling it was a bit too late for them, but at least I'll be ready for next year. Do I have to dead head the English bluebells when they've finished flowering? We've got hundreds that multiply quite happily every year. Each year I think they're blind, and then the spikes all appear within 48 hours, as they did this weekend. Anyone know how to sharpen secateurs, while we're about flying in the garden?

Several cupboards have been turned out, sorted and various bits of gibble reassigned to CS pile, bin and elsewhered.

Blood mopped up from latest sewing escapade and upcycled new item assigned to washing hamper for de-blooding. I'm now going to shorten the grotty old shower curtains and then try and work out how to do buttonholes on OH's mother's machine, so I can press the newish Lid1 ones into use, as the eyelet holes won't go over our shower curtain rail hooks.
    Better is good enough.

the high school have run them for a few of years weve been to about 3 of the parents ones. they have andy cope (spy dogs author) or andy whittaker in and he inspires and motivates the kids in group sessions just generally making them think about life opportunities and making the best of your choices and situations, they have done quite a few books on the subject (ive read them all LOL) the parents evening version is basically a taster of what the kids have been told so you can hopefully reinforce it at home but also making you think about how your jaded negativity on life can affect your own choices and rub off on your child or those around you.
you come away wishing teachers had been like that in your day (well i do anyway) i think lots of schools subscribe to their way of thinking now and they are really lovely approachable guys - i think if you work in a school environment its well worth looking into it.

ouch honeybear the sewing escapade sounds painful, hope you werent badly hurt

cleared another load of glass off the school field today - why do people feel the need to drink on a school field... and WHY DO THEY HAVE TO SMASH THE BOTTLES AFTERWARDS??????
