Here's a shock! The food industry have been funding studies to make governments and the public think that soft drinks are healthier than they really are.

I notice there was a study last month stating that drinking one sugary soft drink per day will increase your chance of developing diabetes by up to a fifth. I wonder if that study was funded by the food industry?

    1) who do you want to fund studies into food? Music companies? Home base?
The food industry does not stop other groups funding research.
Its only 4 out 17 so not exactly comprehensive either way.

    2) I thought you were arguing for use of sugar over aspartame? The article above would suggest avoid using natural ingredients like sugar?

    3) If you eat/drink to much you will gain weight. Sugary drinks are a easy way to increase your calorie intake with out feeling full. Still up to the individual to pour the drink.

    4) most people get fat as they over eat and under exericse. sugary drinks allow people to over consume calories if they do not know when to say no coupled with no exercise they gain weight.
You can consume sugary drinks and not gain weight if your kcal intake is not excessive.
