O/S Daily Friday 26th April

O/S Daily Friday 26th April 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Twin two was only at school for Just over an hour yesterday morning,
We had a phone call to come and pick her up. She has come down with slap cheek. It has been going around the school. She is off school today, We will send her back on Monday. The school do not wont them there while they have the red cheeks. Just waiting for twin one to get it now!
Not sure if I have ever had it. If not then I could catch it. My wife thinks she has had it.
Twin two dose not have it bad. She ways she feels fine. Its just the red cheeks that she has.
My wife picked her up from school. And the first words out of her mouth were "why do I have to come home?"

good morning chums ,very wet and dark here in north Kent, such a change from yesterdays beautiful weather.Still I'm glad I managed to get all of Dds washing line-dried for her yesterday.
School run this morning then History club this afternoon. We are discussing the rise of the Labour party, not the present lot, but the early 20th century, should be interesting.Anyone watching The Village at all.I am firmly hooked on it,probably a more realistic picture of life a hundred years ago than a lot of books or films..Life was very hard then for so many folk.
Well time to get into the shower and have some breakfast
Hope you all have a good day and it brightens up a bit
    Cheers chums JackieO xxx

    Same here,
Today is my wife's payday, We will only sniff it before it all gets paided out.
The only trouble is that we need more than money than she is being paid to pay all the things that need paying out:mad:

Still what we don't have they can not have. You can not get blood out of a stone

    We have been watching it,
Really enjoying it. They are planning on taking us though 100 years of life In the Village. If the show gets good ratings, They will make more taking us on a 100 year tour of life, I hope they carry on and do make more. And do the full 100 years.

    Morning all,
Wet here too so no work outside will get done. The tree men didn't turn up y/day so I'm gonna phone a few Tree Fellers that advertise in our local paper as we're fed up with being messed about.
DD2 & DGD3 are coming here this morning, I'll look after DGD whilst DD goes to look at a few houses as her and SiL2b want to move to a bigger place. They have a 3 bed bungalow which is bursting at the seams.
Hm chinese meal for dinner, prawns with noodles, special fried rice and s&s chicken. I'm really trying hard to run the freezers down. I sorted out some cupboards y/day and listed all tins and jars in there so I'll plan meals around what I have.
Must start a packing list as we are off on holiday next Saturday taking DD2, SiL2b, DGD2 and DGD3 with us. Looking forward to some sun.
Just off to get my stick to chase all the BD's away.
    ((((hugs)))) to all poorlies.

    Morning all,

Wet here too, been raining off and on all night, off to work today, but dd is at home, so no need to run her or the dog anywhere.

Dinner tonight is meatballs, might stop and buy a french stick and have a meatball sub for a change.

Will shove a wash on before work and ask dd to hang it on airer in conservatory.

DD going out for the evening, so just OH and I here, would like to get up the beach for a walk if the weather improves.

Will ask dd to have a tidy round downstairs, so its nice for when I come in from work.

    Have good days all.

I shall send little dog after all these black dogs, there is nothing quite like an angry terrier :rotfl:
  • Morning!

    Get well soon halight junior!

Off to work in a moment, DS1 is still on the sofa watching Game of Thrones and DS2 is dancing around the landing in his Batman pants singing Dontcha by the !!!!!cat dolls. I've obviously failed as a parent somewhere.:rotfl:

Physio this afternoon then out to the Chinese buffet with my best friend tonight. She lives about 40 miles away so meet up midway once a month for a meal. I don't go out often so it's always something I look forward to.

Saying that, DH booked a hotel for a night out in June. It's his best friends birthday so we found a premier inn for £29. Premier inns aren't that exciting but they're consistent so you know what to expect.

Payday today for both of us, we actually had a surplus last month so OSing and using cash is obviously working. I've moved it over into the savings account already. Our London trip has to be funded out of this months wages so I'm hoping to save some money from weekly cash wherever possible.

I agree - my two are very good at chasing the black dogs away. Incidentally in real life my two white doggies really dont like black coloured dogs:)

Im going for Osteo this morning. I have tried managing without it but my back is in a dreadful state.

I have heard from eldest son and all is calm this morning - Thank goodness.I just have to take it on a day-by-day basis! My youngest son is in disgrace after really upsetting his big sister - she was sobbing in the middle of the night. I know he is down but to take it out on her is absolutely not on, as she was only trying to help. I wont tolerate him being nasty to her so when he wakes up I have a discussion to have with him.

Hope you all have a good day xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
