Ebay Courier Problems

Hi,
I sold 2 items to the same person on ebay and combined the postage for them and put both items in the same box and sent it by courier.
The parcel was signed for 3 days later but a week later, I have now received an 'Item not Received' case on ebay with the buyer saying they have not received the second item!
They haven't opened a case for the first item (which was worth a lot more) so I have no idea how they have not got the second item when they were both in the same box!
I've responded with courier company name and tracking number plus a message along the lines of, it was delivered and signed for and both items were in the same box.
Does anyone know how this will go, as I know ebay/Paypal rarely favours the seller!
Thanks

Just stay calm and put all the facts to into your ebay casenotes that you combined post for your buyer, and that ebay can check you posted both items in same package if they check the correspondence and you believe the buyer to be making a false/malicious claim.
You can also scan and show ebay reps the actual proof of postage or couriers receipt which shows how much your package weighed that it was the combined weight for both items and remind ebay, of your buyer signing for the item, and of your impeccable record of positives and you will fully co-operate with ebay in their investigating of this claim .
To try and resolve it quicker and also ask advice, I would also type all this in a LIVE chat window with one of their reps now, and then they always email the manuscript of the text if you need to keep it for the courier/police if it gets as serious as that.
You believe your buyer is acting fraudulently and you would hope ebay find in your favour, ONE tracking number for both ebay items which had been combined, in accordance with the new invoice you sent , showing clearly you fully intended to post both the items as one package and reduce a % of the postage.
I hate thinking of decent people meeting this type of scumbag on ebay. But do remember, you have done everything by the book ,so should be sorted asap.NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself" :eek:0 -
Sorry, I just realised I didn't combine the items and they were separate transactions but the postage cost for the second item was low, so I put it in with the first item (the first item was large and the second item small, so it made sense!)0

I wouldnt have mentioned the combined bit to ebay. Never a good idea to over-complicate for the fluffy headed Ebay staff.
You should have just put tracking in, as required.0 -
Did you refund excess postage or message the buyer so they were aware? I've put something inside something before and the buyer didn't realise and asked where the second item was.0

It maybe that they didn't find the item in the packaging because they wern't expecting it to be in there. Send them a message saying where it was in the box. I had a lady saying bits were missing (made of glass) and she had thrown the box to her dogs to play with. Fortunately they were still there! Other than that, onetwothree gave some good advice.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. None of my courier sent parcels say the weight on the receipt - they don't weigh them.0 -

True, my fault for rushing in and replying! Was just annoyed that it sounds like they are pulling a fast one.
Probably lesson learnt in that they are two separate transactions, but a further question is:-
If a buyer buys more than one item from you and pays for it all (doesn't request combined postage), I suppose you are expected to send each item separate, BUT, what if you refund them the combined postage difference back through Paypal and the transactions are still separate??!!0 -

No, they don't but what I took from that, albeit a long shot, is that one item on it's own might have been in a lower price bracket - I guess it depends how heavy the items are.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise.
