Typical, filled up yesterday, bought TV last week which would easily get me a voucher- I need to fine tune my technique!
I am now going to have to drive round to empty the tank of petrol to maximise the value of this offer ....

All the cheques were made out to me because I was the joint executor and the other executor forgo his rights because of ill health.I also had to contact the land registry to change the deeds of a bungelow that was in joint names .
Did you see my post last night, I have a cheque made payable to EXORS of "my mum's name"
C/O "my name"
"my address"
I don't think I can pay it into mum's accounts as they are now frozen.
I definitely have to apply for probate because there is a property involved. It was a lot easier when my dad died as everything automatically passed to my mum and with death cert and will straightforward transfers.0 -
thank you. I had read that one, along with another site which stated as Executor you had to open a bank account on behalf of the estate but it does not say anything there does it. Confused.com
No it doesn't. The thing about probate is that it all the way it's done depends on so many different things. If there's a will, if there are executors, if there was POA in place and so on. I remember it being straightforward with my dad and never had to open another bank account. That guide is pretty good and the forms you need should be online as well on the courts service website0 -
Afternoon all, hope everyone is well.0

I phoned for the forms, they asked me a few details and then they told me which ones I needed and they would be with me in 10 days, which was fine with me, I am in no rush.0 -

If the estate is under the Inheritance tax threshold you will need form IHT205 and form PA1 which I got from my local Probate office.0 -
