Can I ask has anyone on here done probate themselves. I will look on the forum when I get the forms through. But got a cheque today to the EXORs of ................... I did read somewhere I have to open a bank account for the estate. Was hoping could just transfer it all into my name as I am sole beneficiary. Not sure if the Building Society will accept the check now as accounts frozen and I already have final account figures from them.
Guess I should have asked our resident accountant.
I have and like you I was sole beneficiary. I was lucky, I don't know a whole lot about probate but a colleague in my firm did. I didn't have to open a new bank account.....I did have to visit dads bank with a death cert And a copy of the will. The accounts were unfrozen after that and any monies transferred to me.....I never had to open another bank account.
his property dealings were a whole different matterand have given me a proper run around, bless him

Ok, I think it's time for me to 'turn in' as well now (the terminology of today it seems), with my post no 6482 now sorted out.:j

If you're lucky, and I remember to get up later on;), no shopping for me today just a lazy Sunday, unless I can be bothered to nip down to Sainsbugs, I might start off with the carryovers of the Tvs M list.
Also, for those in N.I. particularly, I've been thinking of posting the comp. vs T on my last shop if anyone wants it? In the scenario of the Round Lettuce not comparing vs M (M have M Round Lettuce 57p), I should have put this on a comparison vs S - as it is coming back at 60p for S. So lost another three pence there!:(:rotfl:Also vs W at 60p as well. (Can I say "also" and "as well"? That's for non-Northern Ireland of course.)
See you later. Goodnight folks!:):D
Goodnight to everyone who's already left and I omitted to say 'goodnight' to - and also goodnight to everyone else (except Westie, for whom it's "good morning Westie!!":rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:):j:D
From me, for now,:wave::wave::wave:.0 -

Thanks claire that makes me feel easier. Think it is going to be a blessing I know you.
Have gone with death cert hence accounts frozen, and have to go back with grant of probate when I get it, probate get the original will I believe and send me a "sealed" copy. I have her bungalow to sell but was hoping to access the bit in her account before then.
I wonder what I do with the cheque at the moment.0
