I think ebay must be having another good clear out of sellers, as 3 different sellers I have bought from this week have all had their listings removed. All of them TRS, they're no longer on ebay. I got emails from ebays "loss prevention department" advising me to open a case for INR.

Were these guys dropshipping from the same supplier who's gone bump?

I bought a film 2 days ago, bluray 3d boxset of dolphin tale and the sellers feedback was fine when I purchased it-however have just checked the listing to see what they had under posted within X days section and noticed their feedback had dropped to 92% and upon reading it its page upon page of negs calling seller a scammer and items not being sent, messages being ignored etc etc-45 negs since I bought 2 days ago!!!

They are a top rated seller,

do i now have to wait it out til the expected delivery date or based on the level of negs all of a sudden can I open a dispute of any kind to get my money back asap to buy the film elsewhere???
Just noticed that they've set their feedback to 'PRIVATE', even though they are a business seller - I thought only buyers could do that ???

[Ooops sorry, somebody else has already mentioned this!] :o

    Dropshippers do all the work.

They hold the stock and ship it out on your behalf.

The ebayer is the one taking a cut for doing nothing.

  • This account has nothing to do with DVD dropshipping.

This is a scam and has been going on for years, you can't see the feedback now but TRS was achieved through £3 sales then the high priced items come but are too cheap, not obvious unless you know what they cost out of the first buying link in the chain. Same set up was done with Leapfrog and other such toys (IIRC someone posted on here about it). Whoever is doing this (one guy or very organised crime, who knows) has done well over £150,000 this way and is a clear demonstration of why selling limits are required and should be tighter.

    But they only listed DVDs?

Yes? If you are going to sell non-existent items you can very easily vary your range each time you set up a new ID...

But they were getting good feedback until around 10 days ago when it went pear-shaped?

Part of the scam to build confidence and delay the negs, the volume of f/b received for items worth more than £3 was a handful in comparison to the several thousand items sold (nearly 3000 completed listings, most sold and at QTY of more than 1) in just over a week or so, I've watched this scam (with DVDs) happen 12 times now over the past 5 years. The toys scam was exactly the same set up.

The DVDs offered simply can not be sold at that price on mass across various studios, even the 2 sellers closely tied to one of largest wholesalers using fulfilment on tiny, tiny margins are not that low on price, in fact no one is which is why so much was sold so quickly.
