Morning all.
Posting my final eBay parcel today. I'm really pleased that I raised £200 for my London trip. I've also got all my fees in PayPal waiting so that won't be a nasty shock.
I'm going to do some general housework today and make Toad in the hole for tea. I baked some carrot muffins yesterday and some flapjacks. The muffins were lovely but the flapjacks were rubbish. I never make decent flapjacks.
I have to take DS2 to the dentist tonight. They are keeping an eye on a tooth they think might need filling. I was mortified as he's only seven and I am dental Nazi. We think we may just have missed it when cleaning because he has a tongue tie and we've inadvertently missed it. I hope he doesn't need a filling, he doesn't deserve one.0 -
Morning everyone

DH up and off to work but not stupid early.
Light cloud with some blue sky but no sunshine and damp underfoot as we've had some rain during the night.
Dinner last night was roasted chicken with rosemary, potato dauphnoise, with peas, bacon and mushrooms, and roasted peppers, all eaten and enjoyed, desserts from the fridge/tins. Tonight I'm not sure what we will be having, but could be fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg - I need to check the outside freezer to make sure we have fish.
Bathroom seems to have really come along yesterday - and I was a lot happier when they finished yesterday than I had been the day before - bath now in, tiling almost finished and mostly grouted, cabinets ready to go into position once grouting is completely finished, and electrician came yesterday to check out the job and he arranged with the main fitter when he could come to do his bit - he will come back tomorrow (Friday afternoon) - hopefully we should then be done, apart from the flooring which I have to go to pick, order and pay for and arrange a fitting date. I completely love it, but DH doesn't like it (well he doesn't like the choice of tiles but like I said to him we didn't want anything that would date/go out of fashion something more classic would be better as it's costing so much money we won't be having it re-fitted again and he's not contributing a penny I've paid for it all out of money I received from an inheritance). It's the only time I have ever really put my foot down, if we've bought anything jointly before that's been paid for jointly (ie, cars, caravan, furniture etc) we've made a joint decision. I actually think he doesn't like the fact that I've paid (he is useless with money and just assumes that as he works he should be able to spend exactly what he likes) and can't understand how much food/utilities have sky rocketed in price. He's really not been very nice at times over this, and I've had times where I've regretted spending the money, I do now wish I'd just kept all of it and put it in my sole name so at least I've got some rainy day money. But there's more money to come as the estate is not yet finalised but when it is I'm not giving him any of it/spending any of it - it's going into an account in my name only and I'll be making an addition to our will that states if anything happens to me then that money must be passed straight onto the boys - I don't want them not getting what's rightfully their blood right - if DH met someone else he could then give/spend that money and the boys wouldn't see any of it. That may sound harsh but the boys are not going to miss out. He's said things at times over this that's really showed his true colours.

Forgive me for saying this but your husband does not sound very pleasant. It is a very good idea to put your money in your name. When I did out wills I left half of my house to my kids not all to OH as like you I didnt want my kids to miss out xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Me: "Eon have asked me to submit the meter readings and now is the settlement quarter so i have. We owe them £80."
Him: "Does it have to be paid now, my wages arent exactly regular"
Me: "Well not if you dont mind them lumping what we owe onto next years estimation and changing the Direct Debit to some rediculous amount and you should have thought of that before you spent £400 on your summer project"
Morning Judi
Would you like me to help with the E.ON bill?
There is a couple of things you can do, you can add the debit balance in to the Direct Debit to spread it over a few months, so your payments will cover your usage and the balance, once the balance is clear the payments can be reduced to cover your usage only (this is assuming you have a Direct Debit
)
You can pay the £80 off in one go.
Or we can set up a payment arrangement to clear this before the next bill.
Let me know if you would like me to have a look at it for you.

First day back on Ww today so feeling positive.
Need to eBay this morning. Have a hospital appointment this afternoon so hoping for a date for my operation.
Money is a constant worry so hope to start work soon.
Going to try and not do a shop this week and eat what's in the freezer and cupboards, will just need the fresh bits and bobs.
Halight thanks for Aldi voucher reminder. I shall pick up a paper.
Going to make a chilli later and half will go in the freezer for another meal.
Have seen a couple of good recipes in the Ww magazine so shall do those at weekend for a change.
Have. Good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

No help needed thanks Helena, I shall be increasing the direct debit pretty soon myself as ive been deliberately been keeping it low and paying off chunks during the year which has suited us both but if hubby is going to moan I think increasing the DD to a more realistic figure is the way to go but paying off the £80 first. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. ttftm start with the vintage jigsaws, they should sell, there seems to be quite a lively eBay market for them. I've bought a couple of nautical ones myself in the past.
Quite a lazy start here, as we both have the day off work. We are sitting here watching Heir Hunters, but will soon get out into the garden to do some work.
Dinner tonight is Spag Bol, all prepared from the freezer.
We are going out tomorrow, to London,, to go up The Shard! It's supposed to rain tomorrow, so I don't think we'll get much in the way of views.
Have a good dayEarly retired - 18th December 2014
