Do you have any recommendations for a credit card?
Normally we take cash and just change every few days. Is there a better option?

Many of the European carriers are cutting back or dropping their services to BKK (BA are changing from a 4 class 747 to a 3 class 777 in October with a worse schedule) due to the strength of the THB making Thailand a more expensive destination and the difficulty in competing with the Asia and Middle Eastern airlines on the route.
Over the last few years I've always had 2 weeks in Thailand in October but I'm reconsidering my options this year.
Thanks again Doshwater,
I will keep checking every day and hope Emirates may reduce a little as twice daily now. 2 weeks ago I booked 6 tickets from Gla/kul for £630 with Emirates. I checked every day as they were way over £800 so I might get lucky. Open to flying anywhere and taking a connecting flight to Samui.0 -

Cash is good if you are happy with cash.
As for credit cards, MSE has an ok, but not comprehensive listing here. Quite poor considering this is supposedly the top website for this kind of thing.0 -
Thai Airways were recently offering a free internal flight on any international itinerary which would help out with the Koh Samui leg if it's still available. The problem would be that Thai from Heathrow are usually amongst the most expensive in my experience.0

Unfortunately, the free internal flight doesn't include Samui unless you fly Business

I had already checked out that option.
Doshwater is correct, Samui is the one island exempt from the free domestic flight
Thanks anyway.0
