But thats still ~£400 for 2 years worth of phone.......0

.... which is much better than the initial ~£600. Or even £840 + handset for a £35/month deal, as discussed earlier.
If you want to use a Nokia 3410 on giffgaff then be my guest. Moneysaving within reason?

For Nokia 3410 there are better options that giffgaff.
That said, I think £200 for 2 y.o. S3 was IMO over-optimistic estimation even ignoring ebay fees and inflation.0 -

It was for Iphone 4S but not nit-picking.
Seems to be current going rate for an immaculate used handset. Which mine always are. No-one particularly needs to know it's exactly 24 months old?0 -

Short version of the story: Some of the buttons got wobbly on my phone, I spoke to an "advisor" who told me to send it in for repair and it came back totally useless as the wobbly buttons had been binned and i got told this was due to water damage?
Im sure it wouldnt have financially hurt your firm that much to have just used common sense logic and reason and came to the same conclusion that myself and every other person I have ever mentioned this to that even if the little water sensitive strip had changed colour inside it had nothing to do with you sending me back my phone with the buttons now missing rendering it useless? (a refurbed one would have done) even one of your advisors agreed with me that it was vodas way of getting out of it but we both agreed faced with me vs your huge legal team I wouldnt have a leg to stand on - luckily I was due for an upgrade, on another 18 month contract....
irrespective of accordance of the manufacturers warranty Would you not agree that this is not the best way to treat a loyal vodafone customer of over 10 years?
BTW Lee this is not a personal dig at you Im sure you do a great job so please dont be offended its just a remark about how big firms dont actually care about individuals in reality.
Its a polar opposite of small local firms in small towns who will do everything in their power to make sure that you are satisfied and will resolve any problems within reason.
I wonder whatever happened to "the customer is always right"
Hi I.H.B.G,
Thanks for coming back to me.
I can certainly understand your dissatisfaction with the level of service you received at the time your phone was returned to you.
Hopefully, you'll never come across a similar experience again but if you do please let me know.
Kind regards,
Lee

Hi Lee thanks for getting back to me, Im glad you can understand my dissatisfaction with the way your team has treated me so with your permission I would like to deal with you personally and publicly on this forum to sort out my new contract, no need to discuss anything on the phone or via email as we both have nothing to hide, (obviously sensitive info that can be used for fraud can be exchanged via PM but I would like to keep 99% of it on this page).
So whats the ABSOLUTE BEST DEAL you can offer a loyal dissatisfied vodafone customer of over 10 years? My contract was up on the 8th of June.
PS I would also like my faulty phone repaired (it keeps going off) before I upgrade as I am still paying the insurance and then I would like to know whats the best phone and best deal you can offer me.
I look forward to hearing from you, all the best from another Lee!POWER TO THE PEOPLE - STICK IT TO THE MAN!0 -
Lee are you there mate?POWER TO THE PEOPLE - STICK IT TO THE MAN!0

Get real.
Nobody will waste time on discussing your new contract "with you personally and publicly on this forum" or via PMs.
Your "ABSOLUTE BEST DEAL" makes no sense. What's the best for one person can be the worst for another.
And forget about loyalty. It costs nothing unless you are a big spender that doesn't seem to be the case. And regardless, you are likely to get a better deal as a new customer via a cashback site and a third party like CPW at al., P4U etc.
And insurance normally covers accidental damage, not faults. If your phone is more than two years old and out of warranty you are unlikely to get it repaired for free.0 -
Hi Lee,
Thanks for returning to the thread.
I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to discuss account specific queries publicly or via the PM function as this is disabled for company representatives.
If you'd like to discuss things further could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?
All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it'll take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?
Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. Could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?
Kind regards,
Lee

Hi Lee, sorry its been a while ive been really busy getting married, travelling and generally getting my life back in order I will email you shortly to see what you can do.
Hi Grumpy and cheers for chipping in
, I was hoping that based on my current needs and usage (all mentioned previously in this thread) Lee would be kind enough to show me what the best phone/s and tarrif was that he could offer me, He doesnt seem to think he's wasting his time dealing personally with me but unfortunately not publicly, I was hoping somebody else reading this with the same needs could then read it and be assured this was the best deal that they could also get before ringing up and getting a worse deal and jumping ship to a rival firm, better for both the customer and Vodafone.
Sharing of information, this is moneysavingexpert after all and the spirit of the forum is to help each other out as much as we can. I suppose I could always just update you all if/when I seal the deal.
Its a shame that you say that they couldnt care less about loyalty as you would imagine that they would like to keep hold of a long term customer but I will see what Lee says and let you know.
Hope my phone can be fixed as its only 18 months old and I can give it to one of my kids - hopefully with a voda PAYG sim in it - (nudge nudge wink wink Lee
) and that would get them another customer but interesting what you say about my insurance not covering faults just accidental damage, call me simple thinking but I had assumed that in a nutshell if my phone stopped working for any reason Vodafone would fix it free of charge as I pay insurance, is this right Lee?
So if not, in theory Im better off being careless with my phone as opposed to looking after it and by no fault of my own it deciding to stop working.
Doesnt seem right.......POWER TO THE PEOPLE - STICK IT TO THE MAN!0
