Powder, liquid, liquitabs, tablets, gels?
So many different types.
I use powder as it's just what I have always used. However I am thinking about using liquid or gel as looking online, it would work out slightly cheaper than powder (by 6 washes). I would be tempted to overuse the liquid though.
I use Asda own brand for the powder as it gets my stuff clean as good as any other branded product.
What do you use and why?
EDIT: After using pretty much all different types I have been converted to gel.
It turns out the powder doesn't dissolve very well at all. I tested this by putting a clear plastic bird bath in such a way it caught the water out pipe and found a lot of white powder in the bottom. Although it's rated at 30°C, I don't think it actually does dissolve all that great at that temperature.
Liquid was okay and I would buy it again but gel seems to foam the most. I purchased a Persil liquid to get the rubber cup to help protect the inside of the drum.

The poll could do with another option for those like me that chop and change according to what is on offer.0

I use liquid, it takes up less space and dissolves the best. I did try powder but I regularly ended up with clumps of it stuck at the back of the drawer.
I don't ever use tabs or liquitabs, they're the least economical as you have no control, other than one tab or two, over how much you put in and I'm sure you don't needs as much as they say.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I use Laundry Gloop, so I guess that counts as a liquid although I answered the poll as "other".
I'm not interested in any product which allows the manufacturer to dictate the dosage like those tablety/capsule thingys. I know how hard my water is and how clean or otherwise my laudry, ta.0 -

I use non bio powder. I did buy what was on offer but got fed up with that damp smell you get if you do not take you clothes out the minute the wash has finished. You do not get that with non bio powder.
The option for nothing, do you mean do people not wash clothes or wash them in plain water?0 -
I use powder and soda crystals - one small scoop of each (the 25ml scoops). For a white wash I also add a scoop of oxygen bleach. I always put everything in the drum so I don't end up with a lot of undissolved gloop in the drawer.0

Can you do that with normal powder? I hate cleaning out the dispenser drawer.0 -
I use whatever is on offer, and also add a scoop of soda crystals to whites for added cleaning.

I wash with Ariel gel. £4 for a big bottle when on offer. There is a cup in the lid bit that you fill and put in with the washing.
Years ago, I did use a powder but when I switched to washing at a low temp. the powder did not dissolve. It came out all over the washing. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -

I just use normal washing powder. I've never used the dispenser.0
