MET Parking offence

Just got a Notice From MET Parking services for my car not being
parked within the bay line, I thought this was a joke , but apparently it is not, _pale__pale_
this a free private car park belonging to a club , which I am a member.
and they are charging me £100 , or £ 60 if payable within the next 14 days ,
am I liable ?
do I need to answer them if they menace me ?

No you were right first time, it IS a joke, the whole private parking industry that is!! :rotfl:
You aren't liable to pay them a penny but (if this was in England or Wales) we do suggest appealing it properly as you will see on every thread - have a look at today's answers here on threads around your own, as we type the same thing out for so many people!
Here's just one I replied to earlier, on another day:

You can ignore the whole scam but that involves getting lots of debt collector letters and we feel it's best in Eng/Wales, to use the POPLA appeals procedure to get the fake PCN cancelled at the PPC's expense.
Read the forum to see other answers and info about POPLA strong appeals.
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks coupon mad,
makes me think,
what if I give the name of a friend that lives in Poland, ? can they still prosecute him?0 -
We don't encourage fraudulent replies - partly because we just don't stoop to their level.
And it's NOT a prosecution, not a criminal case, not a summons. Just some random firm saying you owe them money, and you saying you don't. That's all a small claim is - and most PPCs never go there.
Have a look at that other thread and links. If a friend from Poland really was driving then all you'd need to do to discharge your liability as registered keeper, would be to give his name and address for service of notices. That's it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hello Coupon mad,
it was a good friend that lives abroad, but I do not have his address,
and do not want to cause him any problems in case he gets detained at the border , when he comes next time to visit me .
so I will not give his details, I will take your advice and ignore this MET company.
Thanks again

MET send a lot of debt collector letters. Ignore them if you are the registerd keeper and you are confident to do so, like we are on this forum. Here they are in pictures:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2329119
But in fact we usually suggest appealing fake PCNs - but only once you get the Notice to Keeper. As just discussed on this thread:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4568309
So let us know when you get the NTK and do NOT prompt the PPC or contact them at all for now.
By the way, your friend wouldn't get into trouble re a fake PCN, it's like ignoring a series of phishing emails - people don't get stopped at the border for not sending money to Nigeria!! Same sort of scam, it's not a parking ticket from any authority. It's not a 'fine' nor an 'offence'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
