    thanks Thriftlady :o

I think I mainly like the 'cute factor' of Bentos (ooh the little sauce bottles and food picks!) and also the fact that the lunches look so much more interesting than mine when I browse the websites.

However, I've got one of those rectangle lunchbox shaped cool bags so I think I will just go down to the pound shop and get some little containers to fit it out, and I'll see how I get on with that. I think there is something about having certain sizes and shapes of box to fill that will help me be a bit more creative in my food choices and also stop me buying so much processed/prepackaged stuff.

I use a selection of the lock boxes and flasks in the lunchboxes - I found some tiny ones in Sainsburys which are great fore dips or veg sticks. The easiest way to force us to be creative is the list on the kitchen noticeboard with a list of "Mains" "Sides" "Fruit/ Veg" "Drinks". The kids and I brainstormed this one day and now if I feel we're getting into a rut - I go back to the list.

Thanks for the link to the previous thread Thriftlady. I've been seriously debating about getting one of the Laptop Lunch ones for ages, but I've now decided against spending all that money on a lunchbox. I might just get on of the divided cubes from Lakeland instead.

Back from my shopping trip and very excited! I found a Bento style box in Somerfield for £2! It is a stacking one, the bottom compartment is divided into 3 parts and the top compartment is not divided at all. It has the cutlery in the lid (but the bottom compartment has a lid too).

    I'm happy now!

Ooooh! I'll have a look out in Somerfield, thanks emg!

Failing that, I think I shall hunt down some reusable silicone muffin cases and use those as dividers in my existing lock'n'lock lunchbox. A bit more MSE than a fancy new lunchbox, no matter how cute it is :o

I have egg moulds :) they work best with large eggs but do work with medium eggs as well (at least with Asda's medium eggs which is what I have)

I have a laptop lunch bag for my daughter - best money i ever spent !

Yes they are expensive but the quality is excellent, ( i was really suprised at how good the quality was ) she has had hers now for over 6 months and its never leaked or dripped. the cubes are excellent and the booklet it comes with has loads of great ideas in.

My DS has always been a fussy eater, ( shes 6 ) but with the laptop lunch bag i was able to introduce new foods in the little compartments so she got used to seeing them, after a while she got used to eating them as well !
Its great to know shes eating a pasta salad at school, or she has tortila wraps or something just that bit different to the normal sandwiches and juice.
