simply melt some butter with crushed or chopped garlic in the microwave

I do similar freezing thing, but sometimes add sliced tomatoes and grated cheese, cut baguette into individual portions, wrap tightly in tinfoil and freeze. Reheat in oven.0

I just mix butter (or even low-fat spread) with garlic granules from a jar, a teaspoon of mixed dried herbs and a pinch of celery salt ('cos I put that in everything!), spread on split bread rolls when they are getting a bit stale, wrap in tinfoil and cook in the oven alongside whatever is the main course. Serve the rolls in separate halves, but cook joined together.
Gets rid of the surplus rolls, and makes a nice accompaniment to most of our vegetarian meals. The best thing is, no need to buy any fresh ingredients as I always have herbs and stuff in the cupboard.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I make garlic bread (bruschetta) by slicing thick bread slices off a farmhouse loaf/pain de campagne. Then grill until crusty then rub a clove of garlic on top of the bread, drizzle oil and if wanted also chopped tomato with pinch of salt
Yummy

Speaking of garlic:
I have noticed several times going to Asian friends' houses that they all keep chopped frozen garlic, chilli and coriander in the freezer, ready to break off a piece and cook with it.
I keep meaning to do so as well as it seems such a practical thing to do!

If you ever make pizza dough - and even if you don't have a breadmaker it's sooooooo easy - dough balls like you get in pizza express are dead easy and very nice. They only take about 5-10 mins max to cook then you can serve them with any of the garlic butter suggestions on here while you wait for your pizza to cook. Make them quite small - marble sized - so they cook quickly. Mmmm.0
