O/S Daily Sunday 21st April

O/S Daily Sunday 21th April 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

    Morning Halight and all,

woke up about half an hour ago. I think i was having a hot flush, either that or hubby was i'm not quite sure.

Looks as though its going to be another warm day I'm pleased to say.

Youngest didnt come in till 1am this morning. I know because i had to let him in. I cant say i was very pleased, not so much that he had forgotten to take his keys but it was the fact he walked home at that time of night.

I'm used to my youngest Daughter nagging me to go and see Nan but now my eldest Daughter has started nagging me too. I know they mean well but they havent had 50 years of !!!!! to put up with. Ive hidden such a lot and they dont know the half of it. Anyway, ive arranged to go and see her tomorrow. I sure as heck dont want to but i'm doing it because my Daughters want me to.

Not sure what i'll be doing today. I'll just see how the day pans out.

    Have a good day all,

  • Good morning everyone :)

The sun is shining at the moment but we are forecast lots of rain later so am glad I got my washing done and dried yesterday.

Have woken up with a very sore throat and runny nose this morning, I thought I had escaped all the colds and flus going around in work but it seems not. I am not impressed but am going to fight it with a cheapo Lemsip substitute with extra lemon and honey added.

Had some major steam cleaning planned for today but may put that on the back burner and have a chilled day with just a tidy around and some ebay listing. Have GDD coming to stay for a couple of nights later, so need to sort her bedroom out too.

Roast chicken today but we are having it later on when GDD is here, will be something prepared with left overs for tomorrow when she wants to help me cook. If the weather is bad, I think we will be cooking and painting. If it's good, we will get out for a walk. I hope I don't give her my cold.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day. :)

    Morning all,

Getting ready for the marathon - watching! Have to get doggies out for an hour first. Hope to plant potatoes later if rain holds off long enough.

    Have a good day :)
  • Good morning all,
Bright and sunny here again. I think we are due rain later though. Hubby is going over the allotment in a few minutes. He is going to plant the last of the potatoes.
I have a mountain of ironing to do today. Can probably scrape together another load for the wm.
We are having roast chicken with all the usual veg later as both girls will be at work.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

    Morning All,
Was all set for a good weekend yesterday and it all went to pot.:o
Had a phone call at 8am saying MIL had had a racing heart since 3am. She had called her cleaner/carer but wouldn't go to hospital. So OH had to drive all the way to Dorset (3 hours) as he's the only son.:(
When he got there, there was nothing wrong, he just thinks she isn't eating properly:mad:
So all the garden jobs that I needed doing weren't done, and now I've had to spend the weekend alone again.
DD, SIL and DGD and us were going to Batemans today on the free National Trust weekend, looks like that is out of the window too. We may still go, depends if they want to or not.

Been up since 6.30, I must go and have a shower.:rotfl:

Just applied for a new EHIC card. I forgot mine had expired until I watched Martin on Friday!:rotfl:

    Have a good day!

    Morning All

Pouring down here and after such a lovely day yesterday! Yesterday's good weather meant that the washing is up to date, just some ironing to do later. Need to clean the bathrooms and then have a quick hoover round and the house is ready for the viewers this afternoon.

After a full day of cleaning and tidying yesterday I went to work at 5 and it was really busy! I was on my knees when I finished at 10 and went straight to bed. Still, the extra money will come in very handy!

Hope you all enjoy your Sunday. Take care. XX

    Morning all
Lovely & sunny here today. Hubby put my new washing line up yesterday, I've never liked rotary lines, even in wind tunnel we call our garden I don't think it drys the same & now I have a straight line. He's going to fit another one under the gazebo, but needs to do a few repairs to the gazebo first.
WM on Fish fed, DW unloaded, no idea what's for dinner, depends what hubby fancies, apart from me, lol. I've nearly finished DD's cushions I'll post pics on my blog later, I've nearly finished another blanket too.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

Beautiful day here, although there was a thick frost on the grass, got our bedding in the wm, and will get dd to strip hers when she is awake, got to get her up for work after this.

OH and I had a good day yesterday, we cut the hedge right back, mowed the back lawn which was in desperate need, strimmed the edges, we were just doing the front, when something fell off the lawn mower, so OH glued it back on, so we will finish the front today, I also washed down the outside of the conservatory, and polished all the windows inside and out, looks much better out there now :T

Just waiting for the marathon to come on, I love it, its very emotional watching it.

Today a bit more in the garden, pack the ebay parcels which finish tonight, we are doing very well this week, which is great, as Little dogs treatment is costing us a fortune. I also need to list more bits on there, need to start saving for our bedroom revamp.

Dinner today will either be pasta or pizza, depending on what the others want, I am happy with either.

Have good days all and enjoy the sun if you have it x
