There is a recognised system within the DWP to deal with problems, appeals, complaints etc.
Your MP would not be too happy if everytime you had a hiccup with your benefit claims, you dragged him/her into the matter. He/she would expect you to go through the normal channels first.
That would be true if DWP wasn't broken - I have gone through every way of trying to obtain correct information and treatment - including making a FOI request on data held by DWP on myself !!
DWP is NOT fit for purpose (much as HMRC) and needs scrapping and starting again - with decent management and common sense !!0
