I totally agree the costs you would need to look round for - time consuming - building is not always a piece of cake - hours/days loading software chasing drivers.

    It's built - it's delivered - it's Guaranteed...

Let's not forget this forum is also used by non techies - so let's give them sensible advice.
CHEAP IN COST NOT IN STYLE...

Guys - I personally think you would be crazy to go for this when there is a good dell deal on at the moment. It is somewhere further down this forum for an E520. basic specs:

E-Code 305-D05E02a (Remeber to reduce warranty to 1 year)
    Intel 1.8Ghz Dual2Core
    1GB RAM
    250GB 7200 SATA
    DVDR
    Windows Vista Home
    19" Flat Panel Monitor

£293.82 inc delivery. You can also get further discounts with quidco (approx £11)

This is getting heavily discussed at hotukdeals

On the subject of home builds. I bought the Dell PC above (but with 2GB of RAM from last weeks offer). This is the first PC I have bought in 12 years - all my previous ones were self built. I no longer have the time to build one and the price was fantastic.

If you want to self build then do so - but dont discourage people from fully packaged PC's.

    Cheers Scoobies

Have to say that's a really good deal vs. the Lidl one.

Cos it's far too expensive especially compared to that Dell offer!

Listen guys - lets close the debate. It is clear the Dell deal is better. If you are really interested in this there has been over 2000 postings iat hotukdeals in their forum over this Dell PC. That gives you a good indication how popular it is (and also the fact there is no P10 power connectors :-).

Thanks to the OP who was genuinely trying to point out a bargain. If anything it has brought a short discussion on cheap PC's.

im with Scoobies on this one

The OP brought a bargin to the board, might not be up to some peoples standards, but thats their problem

£300 for a computer, albeit without a monitor aint a bad price!

They had this in the LIDL in Prestwich today. It was in the locked plastic case with a crossed out £399 and reading £299. I thought it was an old model that they'd reduced the price of. It's not a great deal but for someone who likes to buy face to face rather than over the internet its not bad particularly if you want to pay cash maybe not having any cards or not prepared to use them etc.
