Pre-build?
Self assemble?0 -
That's a generous budget for a web-browser (without monitor or OS).annette_tr9 wrote: »up to £500
If you're happy to install your own OS have you not considered building your own?
With £500 for off-the-shelf you should get a good warranty.
e.g. any of these http://www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/multimedia-pcs-computers.asp
Add "'Bundle! Surge Protector + Bullguard Security' " to get a good value warranty package, take off the OS and should be well under £500.0 -
What's wrong with your current PC? Can it be resurrected by replacing broken components?0

£500, good budget, plenty of options out there!
If your looking at self build, that'll get you something reasonably future proof, you could even rescue bits from your current kit, that of course depends on how willing you'd be at building a PC (Good skill, helps if things go wrong).
If your not, there's the dino PC listed above, there's also Mesh Computers
The two £499 options on there is reasonably future proof in my mind, my preference on that, would be the i5 and pony up the extra £8 for the fractal design case (which is on the AMD version right next to it).
Although saying that the AMD version does come with a SSD and a normal drive, which would make your PC run faster!

This is cheap

If you are after component, £510 should get you intel i5 3570K, Gigabyte Z77 DS3H, Kingston DDR3 1600 2x4GB, HIS AMD 7750, Lite-on DVD drive, Seagate 1TB HDD, Corsair CX430, NZXT Source 2100 -
the graphics card has gone in my old computer, and it's over 5 years old and has been running really slowly even after a fresh windows install.
i dont think i could build my own...........i know a bit about computers but not that much.....
just looking at the links now thanks!
should i avoid pc world.....was looking at this one:
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/desktop-pc-monitors/desktop-pcs/refurbished-pcs/hp-pavilion-p6-2275ea-refurbished-desktop-pc-17291915-pdt.htmlThanks to all competition posters!0 -
In THAT case buy one WITH an OS. And... avoid PCWorld.
(other recommended PC builders are chillblast, CCL, CyberPower)0 -
