Brand new iPhone in washing machine. Insurance policy too new to claim?!

    You sort of don't have to see it, but you can rest assured there will be some sort of exclusions.

    I'd check your policy, there is a very good chance you have a significant excess on an iPhone - my insurance excess was £75...might be better just going to Apple on the basis if they get the phone powered up and find it was damaged within the no claim period you won't be covered anyway...

    Just a thought but have you got ordinary household insurance with accidental damage cover?

    My excess claim is £50. So it would be another £100 on top of that if I went to Apple today.

    check your insurance...it could/most likely will be a refurb they give you anyway...

    You could use a wet phone recovery pack - these can often fix water damaged phones so you don't need to worry about paying insurance excesses and replacement fees etc.

    I used one from a UK supplier called Rescuetec when I had a 'water accident' with my phone, and it did get it working again. Hope this helps, and good luck :)
