No self respecting seller buys and sells on the same account.

I agree and it has nothing at all to do with making PayPal payments.

Chrysalis, just carry on reading some of the threads. Sellers complaining that they can't leave bad feedback for buyers they consider 'difficult' or even just for claiming a lost item. Then see how many people suggest naively that they wait for the buyer to list something, and just either buy and not pay, or buy and claim INr 'to teach them a lesson'.

It isn't just one or two people suggesting that, it is quite normal here and on the community boards. While there is that sort of mentality around I would not suggest that any seller uses the same account to buy and sell.

    I do

    whats wrong with doing that?

Nothing, until you buy something from a duff seller, and when you complain, they attack your items in retaliation.

Not everyone on ebay is a fine, upstanding citizen, sadly. (Although most are).

For starters you won't be able to use a card to pay unless you empty out your paypal account first

and whats wrong with paying direct from your account?

    I always do that.
