soak it with biological soap powder, maybe even switched on for a couple of hours. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

I was going to say biological powder as well. Otherwise try soda crystals and very hot water and leave overnight.2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.

Was cooking rice last night and didn't realise that I had walked away with the ring on max rather than min, so now have a very black saucepan bottom. Any suggestions on what I can use to clean it?A smile costs little but creates much0

Do you mean inside or out.
Inside, layer of salt and a bit of water.
Leave overnight with Coke in it, coca cola that is.:D
Lots more tips will come along soon.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

ahh thats my trick usually!!
If its the inside bottom of the pan I chuck washing powder in the pan add some HOT or boiling water (not loads just to cover the burn) and leave for a few hours, until it comes off, u will see when its 'ready' the burnt bits just lift offit will then be so much easier to clean.
Not sure about the outside bottom maybe it would work on that too.Life happens when you are busy making other plans

Now I know why I don't like Coke, if it can do that to the bottom of your saucepan, what on earth does it do to your teeth?! Thanks, will try that tonight.A smile costs little but creates much0

on the outside, use stardrops and a scourer or a mix of vinegar and bicarb in warm water and a scourer. It won't take too much effort for it to start to shift.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Definitely cola (any cheapo brand will do!) I recently got fruit & sugar burnt to the bottom of my trusty preserving pan. Tried the salt treatment to no avail. Then left it soaking overnight in cola and boiled up next morning - the burnt layer almost lifted off. Magic!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream.
