I'll start the NPB process tomorrow...give him one last day.

Why put off til tomorrow what can be done today? You have already sent 2 invoices. Don't allow a NPB to get away with it for any longer than necessary.

Virgil - the OP has already sent 2 invoices so I would not PM the buyer again.

The buyer only has a strike recorded against them if they don't subsequently pay so opening a NPB will not affect their account if they do pay.

do you guys pm the buyer a reminder before you open a case ?

I normally send an invoice after 48 hours as a reminder. If there's no payment and no contact after a further 24 to 48 hours I move straight to opening a case.

To my mind it's rude not to pay after 2 days or advise of a delay, so I don't mess around, I just get on with opening the case.

I tend to send an invoice after auction ends, and then another invoice on day 3 or so, and then just open an nPB the day after that. I don't bother corresponding further with someone who has already ignored two invoices and all the ebay reminders.

oh , thats interesting , I didn't even know you could send a second invoice . but don't you then have to wait another 4 days before opening a case ?

2 days now, but I will probably stick to opening it on day 4 unless I am feeling very grumpy

Oh great. Can't even relist the item this month because of ebays new seller restrictions. So that's another week to receive a letter from eBay saying I can sell more. Thanks so much NPB.

Were there any other bidders on the item?
If so, you could make a second chance offer.

I normally wait 4 days and ask them about payment and then if I don't receive a reply within a couple of days I open a NPB

I open NPB after two days, but send a message to the winning bidder to advise I have done this to protect myself from paying final value fees in case the transaction fails to complete and it will be cancelled automatically once payment has been received and will not impact on their eBay account in any way once payment received. I then add a note to explain that I realise that sometimes life interrupts things like eBay and understand there may be reasons they haven't contacted me yet - but if they could spare a moment to update me I would be grateful.

It's happened to me - I put a snipe on once and granddaughter was taken very ill and into intensive care - I never gave eBay a thought, phone was switched of in ICU so no email updates received. When I went home four days later NPB filed against me. Seller was very understanding. Things do happen, but then again there are also those who just don't pay, or don't pay until last minute (or like my buyer last week....don't have enough money, yet!)

Also, I'm worried he might give me negative feedback! Can he do this?

Yes, but if you raise a NPB then they can't give feedback and they receive a strike.
