How long do you give a buyer to pay?

sold a fairly valuable item on ebay last week. the winning bidder put a bid on at the last second and I sent the invoice within about fifteen minutes so its not as if the buyer bid at the beginning and hasn't been around. I sent another invoice yesterday and have still heard nothing back. This guy has good feedback but this is quite frustrating. I wouldn't mind waiting if the guy had got in contact to tell me why (waiting til payday, etc) but to be frank I was counting on the money for this item because it is quite a lot. Don't want to be overly pushy but at the same time all he has to do is drop a one line email to let me know what is going on. So how long do you give buyers to pay? eBay says you can claim non payment after two days but that seems pretty quick! Sorry if this Q has been asked a billion times before.

It's possible, and probable, the bidder used sniping software, so probably never actually bid at the last few minutes..0 -
I give 3 days. In this case it might be a good idea to start the NPB process. It might prompt payment but if not you'll get your final payment fee back. If there were other bidders, you maybe send a second chance offer to the highest bidder with their bid price to see if they want to buy it?
I had a similar situation where a guy bid at the last minutes. He had 100% feedback but never paid for my item.

A last minute bid suggests it could be a snipe rather than a physical bid.
Regardless of that I would give no more than 4 days until opening an NPB.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Bid sniping software totally slipped my mind. Honestly if I wasn't so skint and it wasn't such an amount I'd leave it til the end of the week, but this is just annoying...and strange as the guy has such good feedback. Thanks for the advice all, I'll start the NPB process tomorrow...give him one last day.0

Sorry to be a bit dim, I wondered what bid sniping software is?0

Bid sniping software puts auction bids in during the last moments of the auction, if you're not around to do it yourself. Completely forgot it existed for a moment!0

I open a case sooner rather than later, as I'm getting fed up with people who don't pay.
I had 16 sales at the weekend, three have not yet paid, so I've just this minute opened the cases.
Two were from Saturday so thats 4 days, the other was Sunday, so that's only three days.Early retired - 18th December 2014
