We were due to fly back to Manchester from Palma, Majorca with Thomson airline on Saturday 29 Oct. 2011. The flight was due to leave at 7.30 in the evening but we were told by the reps at the hotel that we would not be able to leave until about 2.00 a.m. the following day.
It was the last weekend of the season and there should have been two large aircraft to take holidaymakers back to the UK. However, we eventually found that our planes had been sent to Mexico and three small planes were sent out to Majorca, which meant that over 90 passengers, all holidaying in the North of the island were left behind. A flight with our number on left Majorca and landed on time, but we were not able to fly on it. We already knew this and when I check the site recommended, this confirms it. How do we prove that our flight did not happen? I have written to Thomson but not received an acknowledgement.

The one you were on will have had a different flight number for ATC purposes, so you need to find that0

Thomson should confirm it. But if a flight with your number left, and left you behind, surely your claim is for "denied boarding", not delay. I think this is regarded as a safer bet. What do Thomson say? You need them to confirm your version of events.0 -

Does that not require them to have checked in? The implication I got was that they were in the hotel until taken for the later flight.0 -

We were not at the airport when we were told that we would not be flying back at the scheduled time. We went to the reception desk at the hotel on the morning to leave our luggage, as we wished to go out for the day. We were told by the receptionist that the Thomson reps were getting us all together to give us the news. We were then told that we would not be returning on the flight at 7.30 but at 2.00 a.m. the following morning. I have written to Thomson at their after travel address but no reply. Is there a different address for the Thomson airline?0 -
I have looked on the recommended website and yes there is the flight that we should have been on but there is no sign of the actual flight that we returned on. What now?
Of course, even if it was on, it would say that it took off and landed on time. I think that I will have to go back to square one and contact TUI as suggested and claim for denied boarding.0 -

Just to be clear: it is the airline (Thomson) not the travel agent or parent company (Tui) you need to claim from.0 -
I have written to Thomson twice, on 28 March and 20 April and still no reply whatsoever - just a brick wall.
How do I go forward with this? I asked them to reply within 14 days and they have just ignored me.0 -

I wonder how many times I've responded to this question now?0
