Ok, I asked in store today and the particular Tesco is not only having a refit but it is having a whole new second storey and the clothes section is going upstairs, so it is not going to happen during the sales sadly - September the girl said, more as we get closer.

The Sainsburys I know of is moving house altogether so again I imagine it will be another big job. It is quite close to a small Tesco with no clothes department so I wonder what their reaction will be, wether they will have some sort of total spend coupon to stop all their customers defecting to the shiny new Sainsburys.

Just make sure you note which day both of the stores close for their refits, and get in there on the last afternoon! I actually went to Sainsburys hoping for mega reductions but there were very few even in perishable food. But my trip was worth it for the lovely spend & save vouchers!

I really can't see this Tesco's clothing sale as a 'REAL' sale, both my stores had a couple of clothing rails with reduced stuff on, but mainly rubbish that I wouldn't buy. We all have different tastes though.......... I'm very pickie even when couponing! To answer your question, I can see this over publicised sale going on till the rubbish stuff is gone. Just my opinion, maybe other stores have reduced better stuff.

thanks kronen;I do find a lot of the stuff incredibly overpriced even in the sale I must say & having been to some of the larger stores all around greater manc, there doesnt seem to be much thats any use apart from little sun tops & underwear!!

lol :rotfl: i think many of us think the same. it is just a bit predictable in the clothing dept now, also the shoes dept have few design, only got 1 pair from t and they r for driving not walking purpose (not comfy enough). also the little worry for becoming "common" when walking on streets, going in restaurants/ shops, going into work... and see someone is wearing my dress, even worse i m wearing it too. :rotfl:

there also the worry that friends and family may think i m becoming "lazy" "cheap" when all the birthday gifts are from t. lol :rotfl:

i always justified by saying i m too busy to go into town. :rotfl:
oh well, i can't really tell them that those high street stores don't take coupons, can i?

Totally in agreement, horrible dreams/flashbacks of going into high street stores that sell stuff I really want to wear but spending money...........No good. Shoe department......... limited........... I only wanted a pair of heals to go with my skirt for Fridays outing but nothing available.Everyone seems to be wearing what I have (even the young girls, I buy kids clothes for myself too, no VAT) but feel so much better knowing I haven't paid for mine. My family don't think I've paid full price for anything I give them, I'm such a moneysaver. My opinion be grateful for receiving.

There was a £6.00 off £30.00 one that were available instore, these did have a glitch where they'd scan on anything, groceries e.t.c at any amount (less than £30.00)

do these still scan does anyone know? I have found some in my glove compartment?

Yes, I think the tops are overpriced, I've had several gorgeous tops including silk ones from charity shops for about £4 or £5 but Tesco tops are between £7 and £18.

I tried on a top I got at the weekend, the lttle white button through one, the one with little sleeves that used to be called puff before it became an insult. The wretched thing is the correct size but too tight on the sleeves so I've got to try and change it which is going to be problematic because of the receipt which it is on has several deductions.

I think I might just change it for underwear, never have too much basic underwear!
