Yep it was definitely a coupon for £8 off £40 on clothing. I think the store was mentioned, possibly a one-off as they had a refit, was it Bishop's Stortford if I recall correctly?

Interesting, perhaps we need to have an ongoing list then of stores who are having a refit and when they are going to be finished. I know of one store that is having a refit of their clothing department so I will make some enquires and find out when the grand reopening is, a possible week/weekend/day for the appearance of useful clothing coupons perhaps!

PS Just thought there is also a Sainsburys near us moving to a bigger building and having a clothes section for the first time, I wonder if they will alos be dishing out the clothes coupons!

Not too bad cheers - hope you are well.

Boy, I miss R&R - couponing is not the same...

Yes R+R ing was quite good fun - certainly got the pulse racing - mind you all the CS desks in a 50 mile radius still give me evils whenever I walk into Tesco... Coupons/Vouchers are easier but you cannot exactly get a free XBOX360 with coupons can you!?

more than likely....theyve taken all the adrenalin out of sniping now

although i cant complain....went abroad 18 times in 18 months through some good old (manual) sniping on the old My Travel Holiday Auctions....

I don't bid on e-bay often now, but I love to get in there with seconds to spare.. even better when you've topped the last bidder by just a few extra pence :D

Getting back on subject. I have applied for some clothing coupons, but of course, they wouldn't arrive now with a clothing sale on, now would they? :(

They were all Sept. ones. Don't know what the problem was, they had worked fine at the beginning of the week, then three different shops in a row, none worked.

Well this is something I think I know about, as someone else on here was near a Sainsburys refit last year and then I was, earlier this year. BOTH TIMES they gave out a leaflet containing TWO £5 off £25 spend and save vouchers (the type that Tesco accept!!!).

I went in twice (and don't forget the petrol station, they had them too) on the LAST afternoon before published closure. The second time the leaflets had been left out on a garden table display and on the deli counter. I got over £500 worth just by swiping them into my trolley then transferring them to my bag, then doing the same again. They were too busy running round like headless chickens to notice in the last hour, lol!

Before you think I am that greedy, what I did was took them to the primary school for the next 3 weeks and handed batches out to all the Mums I could, telling them they could also use them in Tesco (or other Sainsburys). Alerted a LOT of local Mums to couponing, some still ask me for tips now, and it had no adverse effect on my own couponing. I also shared some out with a few deserving friends on here and on PTS, not always for swaps.

FINALLY, I noticed the leaflts have no year printed on them. They just say 'valid from 23 March till 31st March' or whatever. So the ones I had left (not many) didn't go in the bin, they will scan next year at Tesco and I will be using them again within the dates stated on the coupons;) .

P.S. Good idea BTW about a thread on store refits, would you like to start such a thread Mary? We could add any info about other Supermarkets too, I bet Sainsburys are not alone in giving these vouchers out.

Ok, I asked in store today and the particular Tesco is not only having a refit but it is having a whole new second storey and the clothes section is going upstairs, so it is not going to happen during the sales sadly - September the girl said, more as we get closer.

The Sainsburys I know of is moving house altogether so again I imagine it will be another big job. It is quite close to a small Tesco with no clothes department so I wonder what their reaction will be, wether they will have some sort of total spend coupon to stop all their customers defecting to the shiny new Sainsburys.
