LCS Parking Ticket

Parked in forecourt of Argos and Homebase to shop. Have a valid disabled badge so parked in a disabled bay. Told my husband to put badge on view and went to Homebase. Husband who is 81 and forgetful forgot to put badge out. Returned to car 10 minutes later to find ticket on car from LCS stating car parked illegally as no badge showing fine of £85 if pay within a certain time or £120 if time runs out. Appealed with letter stating mitigating cIrcumstances and photocopies of disabled badge (have I shot myself in the foot here). Reply states I parked illegally pay fine of £85 now or risk paying £120. Googled what to do next and read about Parking Ticket Tribunal as next appeal stage. Rang company up and was told I could not re-appeal as they are a private company and there ARE NO GROUNDS FOR DOING THIS help!!!!

Did they actually use the words "parked illegally"? If they did then they are in deep trouble because nothing of the sort has occurred. This is a private parking ticket and has nothing to do with statute law. And it's not a "fine", it's an invoice.

It appears that LCS are not an AOS member so POPLA doesn't apply here.

Thanks for your response I looked back at the letter They actually say the vehicle was parked in breach of the Terms and Conditions of Parking ie in an LCS disabled parking spot you need to show a disabled badge. This parking Control system at this forecourt is new For years you could park free, I think it's an easy way to get money. I went and spoke to Homebase and they said people get tickets all the time.

As you have not broken the law and the blue badge does not apply to private land then you are safe to ignore these clowns. Nothing will come of it.

lcs and the car park owner have broken the law by continuing to pursue this, they are in breach of the equalities act.

LCS are ex-clampers who (I think) were thrown out of the BPA.

If you can't see them on the AOS members list (Google it) then you MUST ignore them because there is no legal way for them to pursue this unless a driver is daft enough to hand them their details in some sort of deluded appeal!

They can't get DVLA data if not an AOS member.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They can't legally get DVLA data if not an AOS member. The small point of illegality doesn't however stop the PPCs. They are running a protection racket. Why would the law bother them?

If a non-AOS PPC got the RK's details illegally would that not mean they can not enforce their fake tickets w/o revealing they have acted illegally? And something they have done illegally would mean they could be easily sued or even prosecuted?
