Hello all!
Have spent the morning in bed reading, couldn't be bothered getting up! DD is working then dining at boyfriends, DS has gone out in a huff, has been storming around since yesterday, was crying last night in his room but won't talk to me, oh happy days! He has his CBT appointment on Friday, so we will see if that helps!
Brother had his appointment at the job centre yesterday, and I'm amazed to say they will be giving him some kind of benefit, at least that will help out mum as she has been giving him money over the past week.
Its piddling with rain and blowing a gale, but so far today my grass has been cut- one of OH's friends is a gardener and was "just passing" so stopped and cut it for me! Washing will be on the airers, mount ironmore is ready to topple over but to be honest all I want to do today is go back to bed and hibernate, life has bitten me on the hind end this week, but never mind, had to happen sometime!
Have a good day all!RIP Iain

We had an "interesting" time yesterday afternoon; Mr LW was wfh on early shift, so he finished at 14:30. Mary can't really be left, so as I needed a few bits (milk being the most important) I sent him to Mr T on his own, and when he got back, he said he was going to cut the back lawn.
Oh good, thought I, as I did it last time and nearly put myself in hospital! Anyways, off he went, and I heard the mower going; after a few minutes it went quiet - in he came, looking a bit stunned; apparently the lawn mower all of a sudden had flames coming out of it!:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Anyways, he checked that the extension cable was OK (plugged in the strimmer), and had a look at the mower and declared it deceased.
Fortunately we have another mower; one of the ride-on-a-cushion-of-air type of thing, which I cannot use, as if I use a mower I need to be able to lean on it. The spare mower, however, was in the loft. Cue a very interesting half-hour carefully maneouvring it down. We've had a new loft ladder installed since the mower was put up there, and the loft aperture is therefore more restricted; this involved me pushing the ladder on its wheels almost vertical and taking Mary out of the way (I sat with her on my lap, for her safety) and Mr LW lowering the mower down on an old sash-cord he had up there.
If anyone's ever played table-top Dungeons And Dragons, you'll know that one thing your character should always carry is a good length of Elven Rope - I have concluded that sash-cord makes a good substitute!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
So... the lawn is now all mowed, and the deceased mower has been taken to the tip.:o And lawn-mowing is now officially not possible for me to attempt.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hello everybody and hugs to all in need.
Well I've had FIVE pieces of work today - the nice woman at the place said they're getting a bit worried as they haven't got anything in..... Mind you that was okay as I needed a nap as last night one of my friends who is a techno geek was convinced that there was a news blackout over Boston so was using their scanner to listen in to the various chatter and I had a map up to co-ordinate. This mean we could tell people what was going on which a couple of friends who have relatives in Boston were pleased about as obviously they couldn't get through with lines being down. Didn't sleep that well when I finally got back to bed as it seemed to trigger memories of the two bombs I've been caught up in. Not good.
Anyway, yesterday I finally got myself in gear and baked - cherry cake, chocolate marble cake, bakewell tart and a quiche. Slice of quiche scoffed for lunch and OH is now VERY happy I've baked. Also today have made an apt for Bobby to see the avian vet tomorrow as he's still not well. Might just be a bug or something but he needs it checked out etc .......
Also managed to cut some of the smaller yew branches off yesterday but green bin limit now reached so will have to wait until after it's emptied on Friday.
Apart from that not much doing. Two washings done yesterday and shirt wash on today. I have subscribed to the Radio Times on this "8 issues for £1" offer and was expecting my first one on my doormat today with it being published today but haven't got it. My OMD tickets have also had their first bid with 6 watchers and 9 days to go so I am hopeful that we will recoup out outlay on that one. Speaking of ebay I bought something and the postage was over estimated so I've been refunded 75p! Fab! See, there are some nice people out there.....
Right off to do something..... probably finish off the cross stitch I'm working on as it's nearly done. Then it's the sampler! :TBut I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Slept last night with the bedroom window open as i was so hot.
Real mess in our place starting today. Skip arrived early morning. Builders in to repair rain damage from apartment above means ceilings in bathroom, bedroom and kitchen to be replaced, along with saturated insulation. Followed by lots of painting and wallpapering of bedroom. Glad I'm at work. Wife has taken off with grandchild and left them to get on with it!0 -
Oh dear, just saw a lot of commotion across the road at the masionettes and then saw somebody I knew turn up all in black. Then a hearse. The lady who lived there all my life has just been taken to the local church 'round the corner. She's the last person in the flats that was there was I was growing up. Dithered about whether to run up to the church or not but as I've already been crying I probably wouldn't hold it together.... I know there was an attempted break in a few weeks ago.....But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0

Afternoon ladies, gents,
Busy ebaying today and didn't want to get distracted on here earlier.
Have got lots done and my books parcelled up to trade in at Amazon.
We grow salad outside every year, usually baby leaves they save me a fortune over the summer. Just chop them off as we need them and they grow again:T
TTFTM enjoy your steaming later:D
RIE big hugs
Molly hope it goes well today
I'm especially warm at night at the moment but think its the time of life.
LW I never mow the lone, that is dh's domain
I pegged my bedding out this morning and it managed to blow of the line and my pillow cases ended up in next doors garden,
Just a couple of more items to list this afternoon.
Hillstep I can't bear those hoarding programmes they drive me mad. I don't even like it when someone is making a mess in a programme, I just want to get on and clean it all up lol
Dreadful news about Boston, it always makes me think of the Manchester bomb, which made our house shake. Scary stuff, thoughts and prayers with those affected.
Spoke to my dil in Australia this morning, she sounds a little better, she will never get over the loss of her dad but at least she sounds like she is starting to think about the baby and making a few plans:)
Anyway enough waffle, have a good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Just popped on quickly, I have been making the most of the good weather and have been out in the garden tidying and getting seeds sorted and planted.
All the washing is done and the wash bin is empty, which is a first in a long while.
Judi ((((((Hugs)))))) x
What happened in Boston is terrible and my heart goes out to all of those who lost loved ones or were injured and their families, it seems that the bombs were made to create the maximum carnage possible, how anyone can do this just beyond comprehension.
Well I am off back in the garden now that I have finished my coffee break.
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Feeling a little better now.
Trying to spend a little more time with DD before she goes off to Uni September. I can't believe how much things have changed these past 6 months, but am glad she's going to Uni and going after her dreams. We are just about to watch Hannibal:eek::eek::eek: as she's never watched it and didn't fancy watching the dogging:eek::eek::eek::eek: programme someone told her to watch as it was so funny:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I didn't even know what it was till a couple of weeks ago! OMG is all I can say.
We are adding to her Uni box all the time and yesterday her utensils off eBay from Ikea came, a suggested book on achieving a First class degree, also 12 teaspoons for £1.50 off eBay too. Also got her 2 student cooking books from Play secondhand which actually have some great recipes in. I managed to buy her 60 odd pairs of contact lenses for evenings out as she cant wear them all day with such a strong prescription for £12.50 after HSA and quidco cash-back.
Managed to get the car insurance for a year fully comp, euro cover, legal cover, courtesy car, with AA cover with homestart, national recovery and relay for £350 after cash-back etc. Our renewal was £499 without some of the extras above and they wouldn't price match! Also have 1000 Nectar points coming back too, so will get DD a base sheet with that in red that she wants and matching pillowcase.
Did a Viking order 2 days ago and if you spend over £30 you get 5000 nectar points which equate to £25, so will buy the other stuff she needs with that including a small slow cooker she'd like unless anyone knows of a cheap one anywhere? I bough 96 cushelle loo rolls for £35 inc delivery and then cash-back to come, then the £25 off, so £10 for 96 rolls seems pretty good:D....and of course will add a few rolls for her to take as she has her own bathroom.
We have gone back to the old system of drawing out the cash and using for food and petrol every 4 weeks and we have 4 days to go and have £20 left:eek::eek::eek: This is from £300 but includes all petrol too and nothing has gone on the CC. We have filled the car up though and thats £60 a time and only getting at most 30mpg:(...but gets us from A-B. We have plenty of food in but will need a few fresh bits probably from Lidl or the local ethnic store which seems a lot cheaper than the big supermarkets. We have eaten well though. Next month, I'm dropping to £250:eek::eek::eek: as I want to save £50 for a holiday that Im trying to sort for when DD finishes her college diploma in June. If I can do this, then I will have £170 spending money which should be more than enough. It'll be our last holiday before she goes off and I want some more good memories for my happy place:D
OH has done his curry and we've not all choked this time as he only used the 1 scotch bonnet and not the 4 he used last time which is good. We have roast chicken with saute potatoes and veg...not sure which as I've not been downstairs and OH is sorting it all.
Hugs to you all.

Well DGD skiped into playschool quite happy going back after the hols. As I kissed her good-bye she said "Oh Nanny I wish you were 4 then you could stay with me.... but then that would mean I wouldn't have a Nanny like you are and I'd miss you" Bless her.
Dropped her stuff off at DD's then did a small amount of shopping, everything I bought was y/s or half price. Chicken (50% off) roasting. Asparagus, corn on the cob and jacket pots (all y/s) for dinner.
Tree man is going to be here at 7.00 am tomorrow to fell the Sycamore, it is huge. Can't wait but it's gonna be a long day.
Hope all in pain one way or another get some relief.
Rage in Eden, sorry to hear you have had terrible experiences with bombings. I'm sure it's brought back painful memories. (( for you and your neighbour))
Lamewolf, I know how scary that would be for your DH, just had that happen with my microwave.
((Judi)) thinking of you, been there with my son.0
