The Sound of Music was fab last night - I'd have posted a photo but I don't know how. I have an ipad and tried the photobucket app but it was just frozen - wouldn't do anything, and posting the code from the site did exactly that - posted the code. :o

Meeting over lunchtime at work again today (even though we don't get paid for it). Tonight is Date Night for OH and I - we have one a month. So we are going out for a meal - we try a different place every month for variety. I think I will skip lunch (as I'm working through it anyway) and have a starter and a main course. :D

I have heard people talking about "cut and come again salads" - am I right in thinking they grow in a pot on the kitchen window? Where would I be able to get some?

Tonight I really MUST get more stuff posted on ebay - to be sent by MyHermes - as anyone used them yet? If so, how did it go?

Sunny & Blowy here today - it's just so lovely to see the sun. Have a god day all. :)

    Morning Halight and all,

damp and dull here too but the sun is trying to come out so i'm hopefull.

Slept last night with the bedroom window open as i was so hot. Tried leaving the living room door open where the 'Girls' sleep and Girly number one instead of knocking the living room door to be let out for toilet duties barked at the door instead. I let her out but leaving the door open and minutes later she joined me in the bedroom snoring her head off before long. I shant be trying that again.:(

Redruby, i hope little dog gets on ok at the vets. Talking about dogs, theres a beautiful pure white GSD being walked on the field behind my house. I didnt know you could have pure white GSD's.

  • Morning all!

Boston news is terrible, isn't it? I lived in East London when the Bishopsgate bomb went off. I was 2 miles away but the building I was in still shook and the noise was unlike anything I'd heard before. I hope the bomber is some lone nutcase rather than a terrorist group.

Good news for us here, DS2 has got into the Junior school of our choice. We were worried as we'd moved out of catchment area since starting the infants.

saveaholic I used myhermes yesterday for the first time. It seems ok so far, my parcel is tracking and should be delivered by Thursday. I dropped at the shop as it was easier than waiting in for a courier.

THanks for the advice about homemade pies over the weekend. I cooked up the pies from frozen last night and they were delicious. DH said they were better than usual. Success!

Work this afternoon and freezer meals for dinner. I was meant to be going out but my friend has had to postpone. Disappointed not to see my friend but at least I haven't spent money.

I read my meters yesterday, I've had estimated ones for a while and I've been lazy. The updated figure is that I'm £200 in arrears on my gas! It's to be expected as its been colder and a longer winter but argh! DD will go up at least I have the summer to catch up. Slightly in credit on the electric though.

    Have a lovely day!

    Hi everyone.

What a lovely day it was yesterday. I had all the windows open so everywhere is thoroughly aired, and it was a great washing drying day, warm and breezy.

Terrible events in Boston. I think it'll turn out that local American nutters will be responsible for this. Patriots Day is essentially a local holiday in Massachusetts and a couple of other states, so it seems a day significant to Americans, and nobody else.

I'm just about to pop out for a while. The slide scanner we ordered finally arrived yesterday and it needs an SD card, so I just want to buy one. OH will be responsible for transferring the slides to the computer, after all he was the one who took the pictures in the first place.

It's rather cloudy and looks as if it might rain, so when I get home I'll busy myself in sorting out another batch of photographs.

I'm not working at all next week, so I'm also going to be doing some extra eBay listing, as I'll have more time to post parcels next week.

I will have a fully de-cluttered house one day!

I'll be using the last pack of uncooked mince from the freezer to make Spag Bol. I'm hoping that in another couple of weeks my freezer stocks will be low enough to do the longer awaited defrost.

    See you later!

    Morning :hello:

My yarn should arrive today. I used to choose 2nd class RM for delivery, I've chosen courier this time because it's now the cheaper option. Can't believe RM's prices.

I've brought the tumble drier in from the shed, it's covered in dust and grit. I'll take it apart and give it a good clean. I didn't realise how much stuff we had in the old shed, I now have to try and fit two sheds of things into one :D There's no room in there for the drier now. I hardly ever use it, but will miss it if it's gone. I have no idea where it's going to live though, lol.

Millie chicken is so funny, if you go outside she runs up to you to be stroked. She comes to a standstill on your feet, stamps her feet on yours (looks like she's running but going nowhere) and clicks her beak. I swear she's trying to talk :D

I was shifting wood up and down the garden yesterday, I'm a bit achy today. I will get on with things, but I'll do them slowly :D

  • Think today is going to be a bad day as I feel so rough, tired and in pain. Ive literally just woken but have been up 4 times through the night and have a pounding headache.

Must list to do today is: 2 x parcels off, sort car insurance, sort AA out through Quidco, send off DD's tenancy once we have it witnessed. Loads more stuff, but they're the most important.

OH is making another batch of the hot jerk chicken curry he did but not as hot this time.

    Anyway, hope you're all ok.

    Morning All,

Had a quiet day yesterday. Popped across the shops on my scooter. I am using my trolley to get about at the moment, because I feel so dizzy.:o

OH in Peterborough till today. Hope to hear from him soon.

Sat in the sun yesterday, but cloudy here today. Watched Superscrimpers Challenge yesterday and was quite impressed with the shoes! Wouldn't have paid £9.99 for a bottle of wine though:rotfl: Our fav at the moment is "Toro Loco" from Alodi. It's won awards, and is so smooth, at £3.49 a bottle it's a bargain!:T

Also watched Hoarder next door. I know these people have problems, but how do they live like that? It would drive me nuts. I am a bit OCD, but I hate clutter.:o

Anyway, (((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))) if you want hem.

    Have a good day.

  • Good morning all.

Got workmen in today replacing the guttering & bathroom floorboards so I'm stuck in all day, it gives me chance to sort finances & meal plans which I was meant to fo yesterday but never got around to doing.

Weather has turned again.. Its blooming freezing here! Might chance it and put the washing out though.

Tea tonight is Turkey & leek pie roast spuds & veg.

Hope you all have a lovely day

I grow rocket in a shallow trough on the kitchen windowledge. We overplant and then use baby leaves through the spring/summer, just reseeding every couple weeks. They can go outside in a few weeks, if the weather decides to be nice.

Some of the supermarkets sell growing salad leaves and we have bought these cheap and planted them up in the past. Lots of YS growing herbs end up as big plants in garden tubs too.
