I can too and surely it must be policy that if this happens then the till is cashed up and sorted within a couple of hours? Cant be that hard.Dont rock the boat
Dont rock the boat ,baby0 -
If these machines can charge twice on cards why can't they charge twice with cash? the difficulty you have is proving it, as its easier to prove on a debit or credit card.
I guess your approach is what makes people feel you are making it up. Some of us are convinced that machines are meant to work, on the other hand some of us understands the mechanism behind them better and know there are loopholes here and there.
If you have the time, you can force Asda to check their security camera, if you are in luck and in good line with one of the cameras, they will discover their error and you can force them to issue an apology and refund of course.0 -
Whilst you are clearly still aggrieved, it doesn't behoove you to keep claiming they have "stolen" from you. They haven't done that at all. Theft has a strict definition, and this incident doesn't match that in the slightest.
If you wish to complain, then accuracy is paramount. If you bandy about incorrect legal terms, your complaints will not be listened to.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
The shop is private property, then can chose to tell you not to come into it.
You say you feel slightly threatened by the store manager, but then, you were ejected by the police. You refused to leave?
You've said very little about the polices response to what happened.0 -
"
No one has a right to enter any shop, the public are invited into the shop by whoever has ownership and can be denied entry on a case by case basis. Do pubs still display a sign over the door saying something about reserving the right to refuse admission..? It's the same thing with any business that opens its doors to the public."
I'm not sure what point you are making here?0 -
Good heads-up. So if this ever happens to anyone, what they should do is whip out the smartphone and start recording a video starting with the display showing amount of change due. Refuse to stop recording till you've been fairly served!0

You would be advised to remove his name and your description of him0

I remember listening to a programme on radio 4 a few years ago.

A bank took the same high handed attitude" we can never be wrong"
It appears others had the same problem, and I suspect this is the case with self service machines.
Radio 4 ?0 -
They wasnt called because of a "customer relations issue", they were called because you refused to leave the store when requested.
Im sure you would have been screaming blue murder had the store staff used reasonable force to remove the pair of you.0
