I always check my receipts as I'm walking out shop then walk back in when there's a mistake I never see anyone check their receipts glad to see people on this thread do.Everytime I go to the co op have to actually ask for the receipt everytime otherwise they don't bother giving me it. The last time I was in tesco never got double the difference back just 50p instead of a pound.Depends whos serving at the till.

I always check when i have taken reduced items (near use by date) or special offers which give a discount if you buy two of them. I have found mistakes occasionally so i then go to Customer Services to get it corrected.
  • I always check my till receipt when I'm sat in the supermarket cafe having a much needed coffee after all that shopping & trudging about lol. :D
Many times been caught out & charged full price for items on offer or marked down, so still been in store & got it sorted before I left.

Supermarkets can be quite crafty at times. Displaying offers on shelves etc but charging full price at the till. A lot of ppl don't notice or until it's too late. I always think chose whether it's 20p or £2, imagine the amount of customers they have going through who buy the same product & don't get charged the offer price or reduced price. Kerching goes the supermarket.

I never used to check my receipts, but my Mam always does, and after her getting overcharged (still happens most times we go in too), so many times in Tesco, I now do. Not just in there though, anywhere I go now, I always check my receipt!

Another place I've been caught out twice as well, is Wilko's, with special offers not being applied etc.

Oh, just realised, the times I've been overcharged in Tesco's, I've just got back what they owe me, not DTD, will have to remember that!

9 times out of 10 you'll find that the trouts on the CS desk won't offer you the DTD, even though it's company policy and they've known about it for years.

Even when you ask for it, many trouts will continue to play dumb or act as if it's coming out of their own wages!

Yup, sounds like the women who work behind ours! :rotfl: There's one in particular that has no personality whatsoever, I always say to my Mam (after one of our frequent visits there!), "Wow, she's cheerful!" Can't wait to see her face when I challenge her about the DTD! :p

I remember now, that when my Mam has asked for it in the past (it's just me when I'm on my own who forgets), they've been awkward with her, like you say, it's as if it were coming out of their own pocket or something!
