how often do you check your receipts?

I don't check my receipts but my wife often does when we go shopping together and she has picked up on over charging and being being charged twice in Tesco and Sainsburys quite a few times. It's always best to check0

At my local asda there are some benches after the tills, very handy to sit on while going through the receipt.
I use the out of milk app on my nexus when shopping so know exactly what things should be costing and what the receipt total should be.0 -
I always check my receipts before leaving the store, I start checking as I am walking away from the checkout...picked up a mistake just tonight on a bogof which hadn't gone through correctly. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I used to check my Tesco ones all the time, as there was the occasional issue with BOGOFs etc not going through.
Now I use the 'scan as you shop' and love it, seeing my total as and when during the shop, and the promotions on these always go through no bother (I check the display when I scan each item).
Haven't needed to check any receipts since as I know the total is correct before it prints out.0 -

Yes, that's correct.0 -
Regardless of how big a shop I do, I always check the receipt carefully before I leave the shop.
Especially if you're buying reduced items or BOGOFs or other deals, it's the only sensible thing to do.
If I've been overcharged, I want it sorted there and then instead of having to deal with it later.0 -
Our Coop is better than when it was Somerfield, but it is far from uncommon for the shelf edge and epos to be at odds. I always make a mental note of any discounts or promotions then after I pay quickly scan the receipt that they've been applied0

bit harsh!
i never check when buying loads of stuff, though think i'll keep a check on the multi-buy offers from now on, would consider taking them back but already used 1 + is it worth it for £2?
could be an honest glitch, known it work in the customers favour at times,
but the point i'm making is how much money have they ripped people off by?
Harsh to say "you'd have to be a special kind of stupid" not to check your receipts?????
I was being polite :rotfl:- I really meant to put "a person would have to be a total moron"."Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so that stupid people won't be offended.0 -

I can't understand the mentality of checking receipts when you buy a few items but not when you buy loads of stuff.
If a shop can make a mistake on scanning a few items, doesn't it make sense that it's even more important to check the receipt on a big shop?0 -

I can assure everyone that I called myself worse than, "a special kind of stupid", when I forgot to check my receipt at the time and then found that there had been a problem. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?
