It is just far too long to go into, but please, beware people of ever buying Fiat. I bought a new car a few weeks ago. It has all kinds wrong with it, plus no spare wheel which I wasn't told. Can't get it booked in to a dealer for 2 weeks to sort out the engine and brakes and then they wont give me a courtesy car while it is in unless I pay for insurance even though i have fully comp insurance already. Fiat customer service are useless and say There's nothing they can do. It is appalling. Never had this trouble with Ford. Avoid if you can! Seriously!
I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...

ok...on your recommendation alone I won't!Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0

How many weeks ago? You could be able to reject the whole car for a refund (though this is likely to leave you car-less while you sort out getting your money back).0

It's not uncommon for new cars not to have a spare wheel nowadays (some will have a tyre repair sealant kit instead) and those that do have a spare may not have a full size one, just a spacesaver wheel.
Surely this is something you should have looked into before deciding on purchasing.
As to the insurance issue.
Just because you have fully comp insurance doesn't mean that you will be covered for a courtesy car as many policies no longer include driving other vehicles, and even if yours has this cover, it would only cover you third party for the courtesy car.
If you had a accident and damaged or wrote it off, your insurers wouldn't pay out to get it repaired or replaced.0 -
Ive bought Fiats for years and never had one problem, also most new cars dont come with a spare wheel. Isnt it common knowledge?Well I Love Tv And I Love T. Rex, I Can See Through Your Skirt I've Got X-Ray Spex0

I'm not certain but I think most new cars these days don't have a spare wheel. They either have a space saver or that gel stuff you spray into the tyreThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

You obviously haven't purchased a new Ford recently then.
If you want a spare wheen in a new Ka or Fiesta (I'm not sure about the Focus range) then you have to specify this when placing your order and it will cost you £100.0 -
Yup.. fairly recent civic came with a can of sealant too... but I knew this and bought a space saver to fit in the space where the spare would be!:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0

Be careful with those "instant tyre inflater" gel things too - a few of the cheaper ones tended to be a royal pain to get rid of when you got to the tyre fitter which meant that what might have been an easy, £10 tyre repair turned into a replacement tyre.
Also, some tyre pressure sensors were reported to fail when inflater foam was used. Ironic given that the foams were often included with the car roadside assistance kit from the manufacturer...0 -
More new cars are coming equipped with the foam stuff/tyre inflator you use instead of the spare wheel or spacesaver. I think I read (was either auto express or CSMA magazine) it was purely done for losing weight in the car.
With regards to the other issues Id calmly explain about the issues with the engine, maybe even try contacting 1 of the boss's at the HQ.0 -
I always assumed people only bought Fiats because they had to, not by choice.European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0
