Clearing it Now!!!

  • Major setback last month as had to add money to my card again due to unexpected expenses.
Oh well, still on track to clear my debts. So on the plus side my major loan is one month closer to being cleared. Also 18 months to be being debt free (well apart from my mortgage).

One other big plus is that I earned £45 in swagbucks last month and converted it all to Amazon vouchers. Add that to my balance from previous months and past cashback deals converted to Amazon vouchers I currently have around £120 in vouchers and that is after spending £50 there last month.
I am hoping, by Christmas, to have around £300 in Amazon vouchers all being well. Although I may spend some of it beforehand.

Lovely and sunny today so good incentive to clear out the garage!

  • Nearly 2 months into my diary.
Reduced my debt from £23,967 to £22,770.:)
Lost about 4lb in weight. :T

So slowly going in the right direction but would like things to improve faster in the future - so I will try harder. :j

Started being more positive in work and at home as well, again must do even better though

Reading someone else's thread I liked their idea of having a book reading target so I am adding a new goal for myself to read 6 books before Christmas.

Feeling in a good mood today, although lots of work to do around the house and for work.

Rechecked my finances and now calculated I have reduced my debt from £23,967 to £22,643 - a reduction of £1,324.

Good feeling with the weight loss as dipped below 17st today to 16st 13.5lb. So only just below, but it is below. That's 6.5lbs lost so far - just hope I don't lapse.

    Seventh Anniversary Debt-free and Proud!
Nearly 2 months into my diary.

Reading someone else's thread I liked their idea of having a book reading target so I am adding a new goal for myself to read 6 books before Christmas.

If I could stop reading books, Id be far closer to all my targets ! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life ..
  • Thinking ahead. This is what I expect my signature to be next Friday:

Start debt busting: April 2013 total debt
    [STRIKE]£23,967[/STRIKE]\ £21,883
20/18 months to go (dec 2014)
Highest interest card: £1,630/£1590. Largest Loan:
    [STRIKE]£3,828[/STRIKE], £2,448, £2,151, £1,818, £1,483, £1,148, £813, £478 (Feb 2014).
    (Weight
    [STRIKE]17st 6lb[/STRIKE]\16st 7lb) (Books read this year 0\6)

But I am hoping I will have reduced my debt amount more before the end of the month, maybe even losing more weight - hopefully taking it to over a stone lost.

Good luck And well done so far! xx

  • Thanks cottage_retreatist.

I know it is daunting having a debt over £20,000 but seeing it reduce each month and keeping sight of that end goal is a great incentive. I find it hard not to lapse into old spending ways but when I start to I remind myself how great it will be to be debt free.

I keep setting myself mini-goals whether it is in terms of getting my debt to under £20,000 as soon as possible, or reducing my weight each week. That way I know if I miss a goal it will shake me up and spur me on to get better.

Not sure how you do it but I keep track of my progress using a snowball generator http://www.whatsthecost.com/snowball.aspx - a great tool. There are plenty of others about as well.

Anyway enough rambling, good luck yourself.

... and my weight is now 16st 9lb. Only 3lbs more to the first 1stone loss. :)
