What a trashy read 'Pick me up' is though

    Zippy x

    lol :rotfl: :rotfl:

make me laugh, but there must be a market or they won't keep printing it every week.

it is nice for us though, we can buy a range of weekly mags, free read plus coupons to help out our weekly shop, i tend to snap out all the coupons and stick the mags thro neighbours' mailboxes. i think the neighbours must be talking behind me, that weird woman keeps going around and giving away free newspapers mags... doesn't she has a life? the answer is no, she doesn't. lol :rotfl:

how many mags do people normally buy? do they buy one of each as they r free anyway? or buy a couple of the one gives most coupons?

I tend to buy the mags with the most coupons inside, usually 2-3 copies. I also pay attention to the expiry dates on the coupons, atm I'm after MOCs with a long expiry date. :)

Just to let everyone know that I bought Sugar magazine this evening, and I'm very pleased with the 'free' Kookai bikini. I managed to find the black ones (not very keen on the hot pink bikini). I also used some MOCs to pay for the mag - always a great bonus. :j

Huge thanks to those who have posted about coupons in mags out today, post no2 has been updated accordingly.

inside real people, there is a scratchcard thing, 3 in a roll. scratched it, first one - no matching symbols; second one - 2 matching symbols 2 symbol award; third one - 3 matching symbols 3 symbol award. look at the prize, £1 million £100,000...bla bla bla, shall i call premium no to claim the prize??? ok, i bought a few mags, lets scratch them all and see... they all look the same, first one no match, second one 2 match, third one 3 match. they can't be all winning tickets, is this legal or cheating?

I only buy the trashy magazines if they have decent mocs in them gving a good profit, then buy a few copies. I do flick through them, cos it somehow seems wrong to buy a magazine and not even look at one copy. :D

I bought 4 copies of Real People cos a £2 moc makes it worthwhile.

I remember reading somewhere that these are scams, so I wouldn't call if I were you. Don't know much about it though, maybe someone can tell us more.

I got the same scratchcard thingy and the same result as vellum of course. If you read the t&cs, you have to phone a line at £1.50 per minute and it says the call should not exceed SIX minutes. It also gives you a texting option which costs the same or more, some rubbish about you being sent one free text in reply and then several more at £1.50 each....

I decided to bin mine. ;)

BTW I have just tested the nice £2 Mills and Boon coupon and it scans fine at Tesco as I had hoped (lucky it did, as I have now bought 10 copies of Real People in one day as I was a bit short on coupons for my liking!).

yeah, doggy scratchcard, i thought the same, shame it gave me hope first time when i scratched 3 match symbols! luckily we all buy more than one copy and when all scratchcards have same results, we smell the rat. but imagine those poor innocent people who only buy one copy and thought luck is hitting them and make that phone call. how much is it in total? £10 a call?

one of the snip&save coupon from best mag last week wouldn't scan, have tried them more than 3 times now, it is the 20p ozkleen one. anyone have the same problem or it is just mine?

I didn't buy Best last week but I know that Ozkleen coupons don't scan at Tesco. I don't think they stock these products.

It should scan at Sainsburys or Asda if you are going there, or Waitrose may accept it if they stock the product. But if these stores are out of your way then for 20p I think I would bin it (oooooo that was hard to type, bin a coupon, OMG perish the thought!).

If the mags have a lot of worthwhile coupons in, I tend to buy about 10 at a time.
I bought 10 pick me ups for £6.50 but used £5 in vouchers I already had so low cost to me for a nice wad of coupons :)
