Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week when it comes to housework, or just the motivation to do the dreaded housework tasks you have to do, come and join us, hopefully make it a little easier. You never know, you might start to enjoy it!

Many thanks to Dusty for last weeks thread :D

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier. Fling boogies, hotspot clearing, cupboard sorts, drawer sorts etc will all be on this list. Any problems with this of any suggestions do please let me know.

A few of the basics before we start the week

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are any areas which if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

27 Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a binbag and whizz around the house finding 27 items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
5GC five minutes gardening.. make it lovely for your spring flowers and sowing

  • After two hours of ironing tonight I am feeling quite pleased with myself - so I am in.

Can't do every night this week - I have exams. But will try and do a bit!

    Good luck everyone
  • I am definitely IN.
Grocery Challenge - no idea on monthly spend, guessing at £300
Budget started April 15 - so allowing £150 and revise from there (pantry well-stocked).

Thank you Natty for the new list and Dusty for last week's - though I didn't follow much of it! We spent three days househunting and came home to a nice, clean tidy house :)

Apologies that with all our comings and goings I have missed at least 2 birthdays in the past week. I've totally lost track of the thread.

Dear Flyfriends: please send posivibes in our direction tomorrow, when it will be decided whether we get the house that we would really love to make our home. Apparently three or four prospective buyers are very interested in the property, so we have to put in a bid by a specified time. Because the estate agent's office manager wasn't at work yesterday when we viewed the house for the second time with my son, we don't even know the exact procedure yet - though we have decided what we would be prepared to pay for the property. I do so hope that the process doesn't turn into an auction because we won't be able to compete.

It's scary... ...and very stressful :( Perhaps I could grab a few spoons myself this week?

I'm in - will save Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for Thursday if that's ok

Ionafan - hope you get your dream home.

and a tip for you (because I watch Phil & Kirsty) if you are in a position to proceed immediately; no upward chain, finance in place, ready to move etc then you should mention this in your bid - in addition to looking for the best price the vendors and EA will be looking for a smooth, quick sale so they will not necessarily take the highest amount bid; they may well take the bid that looks likeliest to go through to completion (I hope that makes sense - I know what I mean!) I believe you also mention how it's to be financed IIRC ie if you have the cash now, if you have a firm mortgage offer or whatever.

Hugs and spoons. Have you checked out the new house for bird watching opportunities? When my mum came to stay over Easter she said "you could never move; where would you find so many birds to watch?".

I'm in for a bit this week; one report and other paperwork now urgent as I've faffed around so much this week blaming face injury and birthday. I'm going to stay with my brother and sil Thurs eve till Sat so need the paperwork sorted before then.

Could do with small teaspoon tomorrow when I go to have dressing changed by nurse, then hopefully on to work to catch up what I've missed.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
