Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you Natty for last week's thread

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

  • Thanks dusty - I'm in!!

Flying will be mostly delegated tomorrow as the birthday girl takes a back seat.

He will cut the grass and I'll titivate the borders, I have some Aldi 'scatter mix' wild seeds to put in and some veggies to put in my cold frame, quite exciting!!! we usually have a gardener but he's been once and done a big tidy up and really only the grass needs cutting atm

Thank you Dusty for this week's thread and Natty for last week's.

I shall be doing my best to join in, but I'm not going to get a lot of flying time this week, as things are hotting up on the househunting front. The buyers' surveyor is coming to take a look at this house on Wednesday and I'm working on Monday, so Tuesday promises to be manic. But it's all in a good cause :)

At least I've got the washing up to date. I did 4 loads today and dried it all outside. Only 5 shirts to iron...

This evening I walked round our garden and found many more flowers out and more shrubs bursting into life than the same time last week. We don't have a lot of couch grass to contend with, but we do have buttercups, so digging them out before they spread their roots and runners everywhere is another thing to add to this week's list of extra jobs, along with potting up some snowdrops to take with us when we move. I also want to start decluttering cupboards for the second time round, as there will be far less storage space in our new home than here.

    Hi all

I'm in again this week - thanks for this weeks list Dusty

Have tomorrow off - have to take some aptitude tests tomorrow as part of getting my dream job. The application was the first stage, the tests are the second and the third (if I'm successful in the tests) will be the interview. I'm bricking it. It's so important to me and I'm trying not to let it overwhelm me as that will be a sure way for me to fail these tests. I used to do this job previously, but when OH passed away I felt I had to break away from it (he worked for the same people).

Oh well, what will be will be.

    :bdaycake: to Loulou for today

    :bdaycake: for BB for tomorrow

I am in; but I don't need to do the kichen, other than a quick S&S as it was cleaned after I painted on Saturday.

The Dinign Room, however, has been dumped in for a week or more; DD is using the table to study (due to sleep issues she's not working in her bedroom) but as she is going to work at her friend's tomorrow the coast is clear in there
    So valli's plan for Monday

    Dining Room
    Ironing
    Washing?
get Easter list out and do some work from that -
    update diary/calendar
    clean out handbag
clean out makeup bag - see what needs flinging/replacing
make 'list for town' - including Birthday cards for later in the month

Thanks for the thread work Dusty and Natty.

    Good luck tomorrow Deco x

I'm in. Thanks for the threads ladies. It's the 2nd week of school holidays here. Although I must also prepare for DS1 to be hanging around after his exams. Prior to starting 6th form (results permitting). Only a moment ago he was at nursery.
