Unlimited Mobile broadband

If you wanted a short term unlimited mobile broadband package is it even possible.

There seem to be networks providing like 5GB/month with 1 month min contract. But that may not be enough for some users, esp if your watching movies or downloading big files.

Normal broadband requires line rental, which means having to pay BT line activation and then a long term commitment for affordable prices.

So what is the best option for unlimited (or as much data as possible) internet access without long term commitments, for example 3 months?

I'm pretty sure plusnet do a have rolling monthly line rental contract option, with their broadband.

Tbh, 3G mobile broadband is not really suited to streaming, the usage can be low, and it can at times be to slow. Often and not with these unlimited packages they may throttle (except the one plan from three, for about £25 a month).

Tether to the The One Plan 1 month SIM £25 per month. As to the available bandwidth, I couldn't tell you.

I doubt they would do "unlimited" data for use on a computer (commonly referred to as "mobile broadband"). This is irrespective of the definition of "unlimited" being theirs or that of the English Dictionary.

You can get something like this:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mobile-Broadband-Ready-Preloaded-Devices/dp/B003Z0T3X2

There are sellers on eBay apparently offering these 3 "Ready-to-Go" SIMs.

The 3 Price Guide says that Pay monthly customers can add 1GB of tethering for £5 per month!

Perhaps this is your best bet:

    http://store.three.co.uk/SIM_Only/Mobile_Broadband

There is a 1 month rolling contract for £15 which offers 10GB. There is also one for half that price which gives a tenth of the allowance.
  • The data limit for The One Plan on three is around 69GB which you're unlikely to breach. I've been using it as my main internet for over two years now.

The One Plan includes tethering so there is no problem hooking up a PC to it.

As for speeds, it varies depending on the time of day but I get between 10 M/Bs and 25 MB/s which fast enough to stream HD to a couple of devices.

Which really isn't suited for watching lots online and downloading big files.

Err, 10GB monthly usage. I stream a fair bit on my FTTC connection and use 10GB (on my unlimited package) in 2-4 days.

Seeing as the op wants to stream and download a fair bit, I think it will be used up pretty quickly.
