i should be able to get pictures back by using recuvva which i did last night.

Very confusing, and still not clear what restore you did.

system restore doesn't touch or lose data
restore from backup may lose data if the backup is old
    factory restore will lose data.

recuva MAY be able to recover SOME data if you did the last two, but the more updates and downloads you do, the less likely this will work.

Nothing wrong with IE, but your homepage is unwelcome as is netelligence, reset it to defaults under tools, internet options, advanced.

hi, I only have a laptop the c drive is 129GB and free space ATM is 53GB i only have 1 driver which is located on the right side. the laptop is a samsung R519 and is about 3 years old.

Those figures don't look quite right to me, if it is a factory restore.
Is there any sign of a folder marked e.g 'Old'?
    Move along, nothing to see.

Looks like the restore did leave your data on the drive, based on the amount of used space.
I think your data has been placed in a hidden file, somewhere in the C-drive.
My advice would be to look at this simple guide here on showing hidden files:
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/show-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-vista/
and then right click on the C-drive and click Explore.
Then use your mouse to hover over the list of folders one by one and it should show that one of them is full of your data. Alternatively right click on them one by one and select Properties. To move the files back to where they should be in My Documents you may need to 'take ownership' of the folder the data is in.

Ok. Just double click on the C drive in My Computer and then see what folders are listed. Work through ALL the folders and subfolders and there should be one that is showing it's got Gigabytes of data in it. Once you've tracked it down it should be as simple as copying and pasting into My Documents

This is going to take a while without any facts about what you did. meandering into a dead end at the moment.

If you are looking for jpg's, install this, put *.jpg in the box

    http://www.voidtools.com/

As I already mentioned, the more work you do on this machine, the less likely you are to get any data back, if, in fact, you really did factory restore it (which is far from proven at the moment)

Buy yourself a USB external hard drive to back up to now and in the future. Flash drives are fine for short term storage but not for archiving. Or use cloud storage.
